ThiruvananthaPuram, Kerala

It was Thursday morning. After breakfast at Ariya Nivas, we were planning for a day's trip around ThiruvananthaPuram. An auto driver came around and told us that he will take around for a city tour for Rs.800. But I told him, we don't need city tour but to take us around a selected places around the city. He agreed for Rs700.00

The first  place to visit was Zoo, in the city. But it was to open at 9 am. We waited around for some time, bought the entrance tickets and started going round the zoo as any other zoos.

ThiruvanathaPuram Zoo is one of the oldest in India, established between 1830 and 1847 by the ruler of Travancore, Swathi Thirunal Rama Varma. The present zoo believed to consist of 82 species including rhinoceros, Royal Bengal Tigers, leopards etc. It occupies 55 acres of woodland, lakes and lawns. It took us around an and a half to go around the zoo and we saw number of species.

The photos taken by us speak for itself, what we saw.

We left the place by 11 am to visit our next destination, Sri AnanthaPadmanabha Temple.
