That was a grand celebration of Sri Satyanarayana Pooja and Dampathi (Couple) pooja by SNEHA-RAMAKANTH,  on the ocassion of ADHIKA MAASA.

Every three years, the Hindu calendar adds a 13th month — and in 2026, that month falls right now, from May 17 to June 15. Known as Adhika Maasa,  or the divine Purushottam Maasa, this period creates a significant shift in how Hindu families plan celebrations, pujas, and spiritual life.

Sneha Ramakanth comes from he Babburkamme community of Brahmins in southern India. They are followers of the Smarta tradition of Vedanta. They have held politically influential position such ministers, chief priests, scholars and poets under different kingdoms. 

The second part of the program was DAMPATHI POOJE (COUPLE),  thirty three couples were seated on  high chair, one couple (Dampathi) at a time, washed the legs, put arishina kumkum, gandha, garland, and given a large BAAGINA containing 

Saree, Panche, Coconut. Fruit, Blouse piece,ArishinaKumkuma, Bangle, Coins (33) in a box, Dakshnine (20 Rs), GopiChandana, Janivara, HooBatti, Deepa, Jaggaery, Ring, 

Rice, Kadle Bele, Hesaru Bele, UddinaBele, Rava, Beautiful Mora (Basket like)

There were about 100 people, out of which 33 couples felicitated and there was also grand lunch with Badama Poori, Janoon, Paayasa with other items.

Number of people sang devotional songs before and during lunch, as  seva to the Lord.

As it was late to go to Drama (Nataka) at Ranga Shankara, we returned home.

SULATHA TANTRY, VIJETHA - HOME VISIT

Sulatha, w/o Krishnaraja Tantry and their daughter Vijetha, visited home in the evening and spent some time.

Daughter Vijetha is yet to marry, loves pets and has a cat in the house, she stays in an apartment nearby sharing with two friends. She works at NewSpace Research and Technologies, Sahakaranagara.

She became very friendly with our pet "Seena" and played with him for some time.

They had some home made Guliappa, Tea and we dropped them near their apartment.

BHAJANE AT SUNANDI OLDAGE CARE -60

Weekly Divine, Devotional songs "Bhajane" took place at Sunandi Holistic Oldage care centre at Kodigehalli, Bengaluru.

As other friends were busy, wife accompanied to the session, with full participation.

The session concluded with Mangala Song "Shankaraya", Mangalarathi, Vibhoothi and Prasada,

Participation of inmates of the centre, is great solace to them and others also.

LUMBAR SPINAL STENOSIS

Lumbar spinal stenosis is the narrowing of the spinal canal in the lower back, which puts pressure on the spinal cord and nerves. Most commonly caused by age-related arthritis or wear-and-tear, it leads to leg pain, numbness, and cramping that worsen when standing or walking, but ease when sitting or bending.

Consulted Dr Ramesh Patil, Neurologist, Manipal Hospital, Hebbal, where he diaganised as Neurogenic Claudificatiom/ Lumbar Canal Stenosis.

Advised above exercises for Lumbar Stenosis.

Doing the exercises, two times daily....

KRISHNAVENI BHAT - SHRDDHANJALI

Krishnaveni (Kittu) Bhat is Shubha's mother's elder sister who is married to Lkashminarayana Bhat of Basavani.

She is survived by her husband Lakshminarayana Bhat, Daughter Sudha, sons Prashanth, Prasanna, Prasada, Praveena.

Number of functions we attended, she was also there. Very affectionate and kind woman.

ನೆನಪು ಮಾತ್ರ 

Visited them at their house in  Basavani in January 2025.

We pray for the departed soul to Rest In Peace and May God give strength to the family to bear this loss.

Ramakrishna (Babu), Udyavara Sujatha's (Nalini's sister) son, with his wife Kavana and cute little daughter Shrinika were home in the evening, for a short visit.

Little baby was quite happy to eat mango on her own and was enjoying.

They were there for a short while and left after an hour, as they living in Bommsandra, near Electronic city.

After a gap of 2 weeks, much awaited divine session of devotional singing took place with residents actively participating.

There is feeling that the residents (inmates) find some solace and relieve pain at least for sometime during the session.

The session ended with Shankaraya Bhajan, Mangalarathi, distribution of Vibhoothi and Prasada (Kesri baath, prepared at home)

That was soulful divine session, with "Govinda Hari, Govinda - Gokulantha Govinda"

Raghavendra Rao, elederly gentleman (94 years) lives in neaby house with his wife, son, daughter-in-law and grand children.

He had been Education officer in Charge of many schools in Karnataka, retired long time ago.

He is God-fearing person, does pooja and excercise, reads Bhagavadgita and other religious books.

FAMILY

His health is normal for his age, and has active mind and concern for others.

It was a short visit, retuned home walking .

ವರ್ಷದ ಈ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಟೆರೇಸ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ಬೆಳೆಸಿದ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸುಂದರವಾದ ಗಮಗಮಿಸುವ ಮಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೂಗಳು. ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಗಿಡಗಳಿಗೆ ನೀರುಣಿಸಿ ಈಗ ಅವುಗಳು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಹೂ ಬಿಡುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಮುದ, ಸಂತಸ.

ಈ ಸುಂದರಿ ಬೆಡಗಿಗೆ

ಡಾ. ನಾ. ಮೊಗಸಾಲೆ ಯವರ "ಧರ್ಮ ಯುದ್ಧ",  213 ಪುಟಗಳ ಕಾದಂಬರಿಯು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸುಂದರವಾದ ಓದಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವ ಕೃತಿ.  ಈ ಕಾದಂಬರಿಯನ್ನು ಮೊಗಶಾಲೆಯವರು 10/6/2020 ರಿಂದ 9/7/2020 . ಅಂದರೆ ಇತ್ತೀಚಿನ  ಕಾಲಘಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ  ಒಂದು ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದ ಕೃತಿ. ಇದೊಂದು ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ಕಾದಂಬರಿ, ಕರಾವಳಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ, ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಕಾಸರಗೋಡು, ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯ ಬಹುದಾದ ವಸ್ತುವುಳ್ಳ ಕೃತಿ. 

ಸುರಪುರ ಎಂಬ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಹತ್ತಿರದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಸಣ್ಣ ಗುಡ್ಡೆ (Hill) , ನಂತರ ಇದನ್ನು "ಪಂಜುರ್ಲಿ ಗುಡ್ಡೆ"  ಎಂದು ಗ್ರಾಮಸ್ತರು ನಂಬಿದ್ದರು. ಅಲ್ಲಿಯ ಸೂರಪ್ಪನ ಮನೆಯ ಬಾವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರು ಕರಿ ಬೆಕ್ಕುಗಳು ಬಿದ್ದ ಘಟನೆಯಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾದ ಕಥೆ ಮುಂದೆ ಹಲವಾರು ಮಜಲುಗಳನ್ನು ದಾಟಿ, ಪಂಜುರ್ಲಿ ಗುಡ್ಡೆಯ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ದಿ, ಜನರ ನಂಬಿಕೆ, ಮೂಡ ನಂಬಿಕೆ, ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಒಳಸುಳಿವು, ಆಷ್ಟ ಮಂಗಳ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ, ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ ಕಳಶ, ಜನರ ಶ್ರಮದಾನ,  ಇನ್ನೂ ಹಲವಾರು ವಿಷಯಗಳು ಬಂದು ಕಥೆ ಮುಂದುವರಿಯುತ್ತದೆ.

ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಪ್ರತಿಷಿತ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಜಯರಾಮ ಹೆಗ್ಡೆ, ಪಂಚಾಯತ್ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಶೇಶಪ್ಪ, ಇನ್ನೋರ್ವ ಪ್ರಭಾವಿ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಕೋಟೆಯವರು, ವೆಂಕಪ್ಪ ಮಾಸ್ತರು, ರಾಗು, ಹೊರಗಿನಿಂದ ಬಂದು ಊರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಭಾವಿಯಾದ ಸುಕುಮಾರ (ಸುಕ್ಕ, ಸುಕ್ಕಅಣ್ಣ), ಕೇಳು ಪಂಡಿತರು, ಪೊದುವಾಳರು, ಶ್ರೀಕಾಂತ ಭಟ್ಟರು, ತಂತ್ರಿಗಳು, ಇನ್ನೂ ಹಲವಾರು  ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳು ಕಾದಂಬರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದು ಓದುಗರ ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. 

ಭೂತಾರಾಧನೆ, ಆಷ್ಟ ಮಂಗಳ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ, ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ ಕಳಶ, ವೈದಿಕ, ಅವೈದಿಕ ಆಚಾರ ವಿಚಾರಗಳು, ಜನರ ನಂಬಿಕೆ, ಸಣ್ಣ ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಗುದ್ದಾಟ ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮವಾಗಿ ಮೊಗಸಾಲೆಯವರು ಬರೆದಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ.

ಮಾವಿನ ಹಣ್ಣಿನ ಬನ್ಸ್ - ಶೋಭಾ ಸೋಮಯಾಜಿ

ಮಾವಿನ ಹಣ್ಣಿನ ಬನ್ಸ್ 

ಈ ವರ್ಷ ನಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಯ ಮುಂದಿನ ಎರಡು ಮಾವಿನಮರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊತ್ತ ಮೊದಲ ಮಾವಿನ ಫಸಲು ಬಂದಿತ್ತು. ತುಂಬ ಚೆಂದದ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳು. ಆದರೆ ಕತ್ತರಿಸಿದರೆ ಕೆಲವು ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪಿತಪಿತಗುಟ್ಟುವ ಹುಳುಗಳು ಧಾರಾಳವಾಗಿದ್ದವು. ಇಲ್ಲವೇ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳು ಅರ್ಧ ಭಾಗ ಕಾಯಿ ಮತ್ತರ್ಧ ಭಾಗ ಹಣ್ಣಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದವು. ಏನೇ ಆದರೂ ಮಾವಿನ ಹಣ್ಣು ಮಾವಿನ ಹಣ್ಣೇ! ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತೀ ಹಣ್ಣಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಷ್ಟು ಭಾಗವನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿ, ಅದನ್ನು ರೂಪಾಂತರಿಸಿ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಗೆ ಹೋಗಿಸುವ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಈಗ್ಗೆ ಹತ್ತಾರು ದಿನಗಳಿಂದ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ. ನಿನ್ನೆ ನನ್ನ ಮಗಳು ಕಳಿಸಿದ ಮಾವಿನ ಹಣ್ಣಿನ ಬನ್ಸ್ ನ ರೆಸಿಪಿ ನೋಡಿ ಇವತ್ತು ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲ ಮಾವಿನ ಹಣ್ಣಿನ ಬನ್ಸ್ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾಯಿತು.

ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆಯೇ ಒಂದು ಮಾವಿನಹಣ್ಣಿನ ತಿರುಳಿಗೆ(ಹುಳವಿಲ್ಲದ) ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಮೊಸರು, ಬೆಲ್ಲ, ಅರಿಶಿನ ಪುಡಿ, ರುಚಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕಷ್ಟು ಉಪ್ಪು ಹಾಕಿ ಮಿಕ್ಸಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಟರ್ ಗುಡಿಸಿ, ಅದಕ್ಕೊಂದಿಷ್ಟು ಜೀರಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿಸಿ, ಗೋಧಿ ಹಿಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿ ಕಲೆಸಿ(ನಾನು ಸೋಡಾ ಬಳಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ) ಒಂದು ಪಾತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಚ್ಚಿ ಇಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೆ. ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದ ಹೊತ್ತಿಗೆ ಅದು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಹುದುಗು ಬಂದಿತ್ತು. ಅದರ ಉಂಡೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ, ಒಂದು ಪ್ಲಾಸ್ಟಿಕ್ ಕವರಿಗೆ ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಹಚ್ಚಿ ಲಟ್ಟಿಸಿ, ಕಾದ ಎಣ್ಣೆಗೆ ಹಾಕಿದಾಗ ಉಬ್ಬಿದ ಬನ್ಸ್ ರೆಡಿಯಾಗಿ ಹೊರ ಬಂದಿತು! ಇವತ್ತು ಮೋಡದ ಕವಿದ ವಾತಾವರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಸಿ ಬಿಸಿ ಬನ್ಸ್ ಅನ್ನು ಚಟ್ನಿಯೊಡನೆ ತಿನ್ನುವಾಗ ಸ್ವರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ಮೂರೇ ಗೇಣು ಎಂಬ ಅನುಭವ. 

ನೀವೂ ಮಾವಿನ ಹಣ್ಣಿನ ಬನ್ಸ್ ಮಾಡಿ. ಒಂದು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ತಿಂಡಿಯದು. ನನಗಂತೂ ಹೊಸ ಹೊಸ ರೆಸಿಪಿಗಳನ್ನು ಟ್ರೈ ಮಾಡುವುದೆಂದರೆ ಖುಷಿ. ನೀವುಗಳು ಏಕೆ ಮನಸು ಮಾಡಬಾರದು?

LEGO STORE - ATHARV SOMAYAJI

Mall of Asia, Airport Road, Bengaluru

Atharv, grandson, s/o RishiKavitha, is so fascinated by LEGO that his excitment has no bounds. He feels that it is treasure and he wants to by more.

We were at Mall of Asia, biggest shopping mall in Bengaluru, along with Atharv, Rishi, Kavitha and mon in his new Car Comet EV.

We also had some Pizza at the food court, spent some time and returned.

They came home and went back to their apartment.
