Saturday 30thJuly2016

Birthdays, anniversaries are reasons for get-together and spend some good quality times. The core of the matter is the family and being together. At a later date and time, one will only refresh their memories of bygone days and years.

In olden days, get-togethers were organized in the form of seemantha, namakarana, upanayana, organizing pooja, homa and even death anniversaries (Shraddha), which apparently hold the families together.

One such occasion was mom's birthday..... met for dinner at HigherTastes restaurant at ISKCON premises, RajajiNagar, Bengaluru. Photos speak for good times....

It was real happy times..... Thanks everyone....

Observations about the book: Not feeling comfortable after reading the book. It is only self, self and ego of a well earning women software engineer. A school days friend not in the picture for many years, appears after her marriage and having a kid of years. She gets obssessed with him, goes to an extent not able to live without him. The idea of having a child from him, all shows too much of self and not bothered about the man whom she married and her own kid.....
It's obssession and self.

 Dare : Sunday 17th July 2016
Venue : H N Kalakshestra, JayaNagara, NammaBengaluru

It's 80 minutes Kannada play presented by YuvaChetana Prathibimba, directed by Santosh Ganachari.
The play is a political sattire with almost no story and they say it is the reflection of society and people how they see it.

The "Nalku Dikku", the four directions as it means are the police, politcians, religious leaders and the media, forms part of the story. The common man in the middle falls into the pit of these four pillars and  how he is being used for their personal greed.

The play opens with a police officer on duty for a program of people's representative, "JanaNayaka" and a woman carrying a packet, with her son walks into the area and policeman becomes curious about the content of the packet. The politician, the media and a religous leader also enters the scene and want to snatch the packet from the woman.

The suspense was about the packet and evnetually it was represneting the IndianFlag, the lady representing "BharathMata".

The dialogues with satire and sarcasm, indicating present scenerio in the society and the peoples mindset are well brought in the presentation. Though the group is amatures in theatre scene, they have made an honest effort to present the play to the best of their ability. Some places, they were in too much of hurry and lacks clarity in their speeches.

However, it was a better than some of the bad plays we had seen.

Guddattu  in Kunadapura Taluk is about 45 km from Udupi. As per wishes of wife's sisters we visited the temple Saturday morning.

"Jaladhivasa MahaGanapathi Devasthana" attracts lots of devotees as it is very old temple and Lord Ganapathi sits inside a cave in a huge rock, looks like a sleeping elelphant.

The Udbhava (emerged on its own) Ganapathi, Balamuri, trunk twisted to right, sitting with his legs folded. As per legend, Lord Shiva advised Ganapathi to sit in the water to get rid of great burning sesation due to excessive eating of honey.

The unique and special seva perfomed here is called "AYAR KODA"  It starts with draining of water from the cave and abhisheka with water with thousand pots of water lifted from the well, with several people standing in a row, right inside the well and passing the pots of water. The abhisheka is done until the water overflows from the cave.

After the pooja and MahaMangalarathi at 12.30 pm,  the devotees proceed to "BhojanaShale", dining hall, where a sumptous lunch is served on banana leaf.

We enjoyed our visit to the temple and returned after grand lunch.
