The first ceremony after a baby is born and naming ceremony is called NAMAKARANA.
Purushotham Somayaji and Annaporna had their first baby boy, quite some time after their marriage.
The custom is to give a child a name that is significant for various reasons.
Annaporna's father sponsored the event and large number of relations and guests were invited. The guests present the child with good health, wealth and prosperity with a bright future. This will also help the parents to understand the task parenting that lies ahead of them.
Grand feast is arranged and guests organize themselves for a sumptuous meal with number varieties and 4 - 5 sweets.
