RAVINDRA KALAKSHETRA, BENGALURU
It was on Sunday, 15th March 2015, at 7.00pm, we went to witness a Kannada Drama "MUDUKANA MADUVE", (Old Man's Wedding ) at Samsa open air theater at Ravindra Kalakshetra, Bengaluru.
The program was organized by "Bhagavatharu", cultural organization, as "Ranga Vaividya" , state level 5-day Drama F.estival, RANGA GAURAVA....... in memory of Late U R Ananthamoorthy.
One of the play Mudukana Maduve, we witnessed was presented by Renukamba Kala Natya Sangha, Naduvalli, Soraba. The play was written by P.B. Dhuttaragi and directed by S R Raghupathi.
The play cetres around an old man of 65 years, trying to marry a young woman..... The man is rich with lot of money, dialogues are witty, humorous and with punches. Another elderley poor man with two daughters. The second wife, who is rude, arrogant and makes the step daughter to do household work and looks down upon her. Her daughter, flamboyant and flashy, college going, wants everything best..... The old man's confidant and agent, makes the old man to marry a black housemaid in a humorous way....
The almost three hour play has lot of witty, sarcastic and punching dialogues, cinema music and dances, which village crowd will definitely enjoy more.
