NAVRATRI FESTIVAL 2018

10 - 19, October 2018

NAVRATRI  is 9-day festival, culminating on the 10th day, VijayaDashami, also called Dusshera.

Bhuvaneshwari Park Temple:





Sharad Navratri is celebrated in honour of devine feminine Goddess Durga, for the vistory of good over evil. The festival is associated with the prominent battle that took place between Durga and demon Mahishasura. Nine days are dedicated to Goddess Durga, and her nine avatars.

Dandiya at Country Club, Yalahanka






Each day is associated with the incarnation of Goddess.
Day 1. Shailaputri - Incarnation of Parvathi, Colour Red
Day 2 :BrahmaCharini - another incarnation of Parvathi, became sati, unmarried self, Colour Blue,
Day 3 : ChandraGhanta - embodiment of beauty and bravery, Colour Yellow
Day 4 : Khushmanda - believed to be the creative power of Universe Colour Green
Day 5:  SkandaMata - transforming strength of mother, Colour Grey
Day 6 : Katyayini - warrior Goddess, symbolizing courage, Colour Orange
Day 7 : Kalaratri - considered to be most ferocious of Goddess Durga, Colour White,
Day 8  : MahaGouri - associated with intelligence and peace , Colour pink
Day 9 :  SidhiDhatri - also known as SaraswthiDevi, sitting on lotus, Colour Light Blue

Day 10 : VijayaDashami, Dussera festival in Mysuru. the image of Goddess Chamundeshari is carried on the back of decorated elephant and taken in procession with tableau, dance groups, music bands, horses etc.

Get-together at Birthimane:





We celebrating the festival, visiting Bhuvaneshwari Temple in the park, attending Dandia at Country Club, Yalahanka and a lunch Get-together at for few relations at with food prepared by Nalini Somayaji.





Relation included Ravi-Vidya, Sadaram-Sandhya, Sachin-Lekha, Nivedita-Sandeep, Aishwarya-Murali, Shaila-Udaykumar, Rishikanth, Ramakrishna Babu.

Visited Ramanagara, LalithaLakshmeesha Adiga's house returned in the evening after having lunch.

at Kengeri with SunandaSomayaji
Also visited Kengeri on the way back.
