NAGAMANDALA - NAGAARAADHANE

Nagamandala, also known as Nagaaradhane is multy-day festival and worship program in honour of SnakeGod (Naaga)





Nagamandala is a vibrant, long ritual that involves elaborate worship of Naaga.


A well decorated stage, a large MANDALA, with arisina, rangoli and Kumkum was created. A loud sound of claranet, saxaphone, Taala, Drums , Dakke, were played for Darshana Paatri (representing Naga - Male ) to pocess.



It is performed to appease the serpent spirit for blessings like fertility and protection and features two priests enacting the divine union of male and female snakes through dance. The ceremony includes creating a large, colorful serpent design on the ground using natural colors, dancing around it, and a musical performance with the 'dakke' instrument.

  • Dance and music: 
    The dance is central to the ritual, symbolizing the union of male and female snakes. It is accompanied by the "dakke," an hourglass-shaped drum, and other musical instruments. 
The program lasted for 3 hours in front of large devotees charged with divinity, praying for 
for the welfare, health and happines.

There was also AnnaPrasada (Anna Santarpane) for all present, the sponsor for the whole two program was Mrs Jayalakshmi, enterprenuer.

Returned home by Wuber after the program.
