We have a Parijatha flower plant in front of the house, which is may be 7 - 8 years old.

Parijatha flowers, also known as Night-flowering Jasmine or Coral Jasmine, are highly fragrant flowers that bloom at night and fall to the ground at dawn. The scientific name for the Parijatha plant is Nyctanthes arbor-tristis.
Parijat, also known as Night-flowering jasmine or Harsingar, is a plant with several traditional medicinal uses. Its leaves, flowers, and seeds are believed to offer benefits for various ailments, including coughs, colds, fever, and arthritis. It's also used to boost immunity, manage blood sugar, and potentially alleviate anxiety. Additionally, it's believed to have positive effects on hair health and even Vastu
It is also believed that Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, loves the flowers of Parijat and its tree is used to appease the Goddess. It is important to note that only those flowers of the Parijat tree are used, which fall on the ground by themselves and plucking its flowers is prohibited..

ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾರಿಜಾತ ಹೂವಿನ ಗಿಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೂಗಳ ಸಂಭ್ರಮ.. "ಪರಿಮಳದ ಹೂ ಬೇಕೇ".
ಶ್ರೀ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಮಡದಿ ಸತ್ಯಭಾಮೆಗಾಗಿ ದೇವಲೋಕದಿಂದ ಪಾರಿಜಾತ ಹೂವಿನ ಗಿಡ ತಂದು ಸತ್ಯಭಾಮೆಯ ಮನೆಯ ಅಂಗಳದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಟ್ಟನಂತೆ. ಗಿಡದ ಹೂವುಗಳು ರುಕ್ಮಿಣಿಯ ಮನೆಯಂಗಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದವಂತೆ. ರುಕ್ಮಿಣಿಯು ತನ್ನ ಅಂಗಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದ ಹೂಗಳನ್ನು ಹೆಕ್ಕಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಕೃಷ್ಣನಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿ ಪೂಜಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಳಂತೆ.
ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಉದುರಿದ ಪಾರಿಜಾತ ಹೂಗಳನ್ನು ಹೆಕ್ಕಿಯೇ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವ ಪದ್ಧತಿ.
ರಾತ್ರಿ ಅರಳಿ, ಪರಿಮಳ ಎಲ್ಲೆಡೆ ಸೂಸುವ ಈ ಪಾರಿಜಾತ ಗಿಡದಿಂದ ಜಾರಿ ಧರೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
