OORU TRIP - TEMPLES VISITED

Friday, Saturday, 5th-6th September 2025

We were at ooru to attend the Engagement ceremony of Nitheesh/Vaishnavi, travelled by bus on the night of 4th and retrurned to Bengaluru by train on 6th night.

The following temples were visited during our two days trip.

Friday, 5th Sept. 2025

1. Sri Brahmalinga Veerabhadra DurgaParameshwari Devasthana, Salekeri.

Since it is our original temple in Salekeri, where my father Venkatramana Somayaji performed Pooja for more than 5 decades, we visted and sought blessings.

2. Sri JayadurgaParameshwari Devasthana, Kannarpady, Udupi

It was midday when we had darshan of Devi, and it was Friday, we had AnnaPrasada (oota) at the temple.

3. Sri Bannanje Mahalimgeshwara Devasthana, Udupi

The engagement ceremony of Nitheesh/Vaishnavi took place in the above temple premises, visited the temple also.

Saturday, 6th Sept.2025

4. Sri Lakshmi Ananthasana Sri AnanthaPadmanabha Devasthana, Paniyadi, Udupi

Since it was a special day "Ananth Vrutha", lot of devotees were present at the temple, for Darshana and also for AnnaPrasada (Grand oota)

5. Shirooru Moola Mutt (Near Hiriadaka, Udupi)

In a serene, peaceful village atmosphere of Shirooru, and on the river bank of Suvarna river, lies a spacious, beautiful Shirooru Moola Mutt.

Saturdays are special ocassion when there is RangaPooja and Paarayana for Anjaneya and lot of devotees come to Mutt and pooja.

There was also Phalahara, after the pooja.

From there we left for Udupi Railway Station, to travel to Bengaluru for 9pm train.

Santosh Bhat (Vijaya's son) driving us around and dropped us at the Railway station.

Reached Yeshvanthpur next morning 6.45am, reached home by Uber taxi at 7.30 am.

VISITING OORU - DAY 4

Today we packed from home, planning to leave for Bengaluru in the night train.

Bath, Pooja and nice breakfast fro Abhilasha, left for Udupi, picked up Vijaya and her husband to go Karkala, a distance of 40 km, to attend the wedding of Krishnamoorthy Adiga's son.

Met lot of relatives and well wishers, some not seen for a long time.

After grand lunch (Maduve Oota), left the place by car with a relative Pankaja, and stooped over at Indrali, near Manipal., visit elderly lady Ratna.

Went to Udyavara, rested for a while and got ready to go to Railway Station after food.

An auto took us to the station by 8.30 pm. Panchaganga Express, from Karwar to Bengaluru was delayed and reached Udupi station by 1.20 am.

We had to spend time on the bench in the platform, watching trains coming and going.

Mom got a superb idea, to tell story and she told and was recorded.

Once the train came, 3 AC sleeper berth, journey was comfortable, slept nicely with blanket and pillow provided by the train.

Met as co-travellers, Dr Archana and Dr Bhat witheir two boys travlling from Madagaon to Bengaluru, They have "Dr Bhat Homeopathy" in Malleshwara.

Reached home by Wuber auto by 12.00 noon. ending 4 days trip to ooru.

VISITING OORU- DAY 3

Sunday, 17th August 2025

As usual after bath, pooja and breakfast, picked up Vijaya and her husband at Brahmavara and proceeded to Anegudde to have Darshan of Vinayaka.

After Darshana, and prasada, Mom sat for telling couple of stories on the steps of Temple.

From there, we proceeded to GuruNarasimha Temple at Saligrama, had the darshana and also Prasada (Good lunch) and met Arundathi and Prabhakara Upadhyaya.

After dropping Vijaya and her husband at Brahmavara, we visited Victoria and Thomas Suares at Uppinakote, in their house, spent some time chatting.

We returned home to Salekeri, Birthi and rested.....

VISITING OORU - DAY 2

Saturday, 16th August 2025

Morning after bath, Pooja and breakfast, (Tatte Idli) we proceeded to Udupi for few things including paying Tax for Perampalli Site.

Look at the rain, at Birthimane, Salekeri.

We had grand lunch (Krishna Prasada) at Udupi Krishna Mutt (Chowki),

Then at 3.00pm proceeded to Mangaluru with Santosh, Vijaya and her husband to visit Girish Adhikari.

On the way back from Mangaluru, we stopped over to see the magnificient, newly renovated "SRI HOSA MARIGUDI TEMPLE"

The all round the temple is superbly constructed, well planned to visit the Deity and fantastic architecture.

Returned home Birthimane, Salekeri by 9 pm.

It was a good day.

VISITING OORU - DAY 1

Waiting at Goruguntepalya Bus Stop

We decided to go to oorufor attending wedding of Krishnamoorthy Adiga's and also some other reasons.

We left from home BirthiMane, Bhvaneshwarinagara at 7.30 am by Uber auto to Goreguntepalya, where we booked to take KSRTC Bus.

Auto driver managed to reach Goruguntepalya on time inspite heavy rush.

Bus was stopped at 11.30 am for breakfast at Harsha Grand hotel, where we had Idli,Vada, and Chou Chou Bath.

Reached Udyavara at 6.30 pm, had some Kadubu Chutney and then proceeded to BirthiMane, Salekeri by 8 pm.

HOME VISIT - UDYAVARA

April 4 - 7, 2025

Udyavara is the first place, we land when we go to ooru by Bus or train.

Nalini's sister Sujatha and her husband Raghuram lives there.

Sujatha maintains a beautiful flower garden and is fond of cats and dogs.

ATHARV WATCHING A VIDEO WITH A KITTEN

When we went this with her son Ramakrishna by car from Bengaluru, they had four kittens which Atharv was very fond of and was playing as if they are dolls.

Outside the house, there is a huge mango tree, several years old, and a swing arraged to pass time.

We were in ooru to witness the Naamakarana Ceremony of Ramakrishna's Baby, "SRINIKHA" at Shirooru Mutt, Udupi on 6th April 2025.
