Around Dubai

RavirajPratima was kind enough to take us around to visit different places around Dubai.

1. OurOwn High School for Boys at Al Warqa. Initially we landed in Girls School, where I met some old acquitances like Jacintha, Mrs Vijayan, Principal Thomas Mathew.

Proceeded to Boys School Al Warqa, met many of my colleagues and Principal.

2. Visit to Hindu Temple, Dubai.

Next to the Temple, there was Guru Dwara, where we also had free "LANGAR", lunch with chapathi, rice, sweet etc

3. Next our visit was to Jumeirah Lake Towers, where Anushree (D/O Harady Sudhakar Shetty) has started Coffee Shop "POST CARD"

4. Next our visit was to "GLOBAL VILLAGE", Please see separate Blog

5. We proceeded to Kavitha Prakash Upadhya house at Al Ghusais, for a short visit.

6. All proceeded to Venus (Now Al Hamba) restaurant for dinner/tiffin:

It was a day well spent going around, as from next day, Dubai/Sharjah witnessed uprecedented rains, where we were indoors for three days.

VISIT TO GLOBAL VILLAGE - DUBAI

 Monday, 15th April 2024

Global Village, Dubai.

Global Village is a leisure, shopping and gaming place , spread over a large area in the outskirts of Dubai.

It is place where people with family go for leisure, relax, do shopping, play games.

Different countries put up huge pavilion and traders showcase their products in shops.

Large number of Games and game area, Food shops from different countries, Popcorn sellers, balloon sellers, helpers with troley freely available, of course for a price.

We spent around two hours and left from the place.

LEAVING FROM DUBAI / SHARJAH

 Thursday, 18th April 2024

To Sharjah Airport / Arrival at KempeGowda International Airport, Bengaluru.

After the flight cancelled on 17th April, re-booking was done for 18th by Shahzad Naqvi, working at Air Arabia, incidentally was my student at OurOwn English High School, Dubai.

From Raviraj/Pratima house at Al Nahda, Sharjah, we left early, 5 pm, to avaoid any road blocks and water clogging due to Dubai Rains.

We checked in at the Air Arabia counter and the formalities were cleared within no time. At the tax refund counter, there was a gentleman, said he is from Thirthahalli and spoke Kannada. 

As we were quite early, we had to kill time going around Duty free shop and Cafe andthe food court.

After whiling away time came to departure gate No. 22, on the way I had a fall with my backpack, due a useless fellow tripped me. 

Thank God, I was able to get up, stand straight and walk.

It was a pleasant flight, travelling in the dead of the night, reached Bengaluru Airport 4 am. picked up the luggage. 

Rishi was waiting to pick us up, and reached home " BirthiMane, Bengaluru" by 5 am, thus ending 8 days of Dubai visit.

Thank you Raviraj Pratima, you being a wonderful host, made our stay very comfortable and going around Dubai very easy.

HOME VISIT - SUDHAKAR SHETTY

Al Ghusais, Dubai

Sudhakar Shetty and wife Mala Shedthi had been well wishers from our Dubai years

.

Incidentally he is from Harady village, close to our native place Birthi Salekeri.

His father Monappa Shetty had been my primary school teacher.

Together with Santhosh, brother of Sudhakar, went to restaurant "Mayamani"

That was a nice meeting after 10 years, as we visited them in 2014.

The school where I worked for 24 years (1986 - 2010), first as Physics Teacher and then as Supervisor, was pleasure to visit.

Sreejaya Ravi, affectionate Maths Teacher, left last year to take of her son Ajay.

Dr Mrs. Anjuli Murthy is the Principa and CEO of the school.

Neelima Nanda Primary Supervisor was happy to see me.

Very active, energetic English Teacher Prema Ravi also there.

Met Secretary Nancy Cordeleo was also happy.

It was a short pleasant visit to my former workplace, The SCHOOL.

ಯು.ಎ.ಇ. ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣ ಸಮಾಜ, ದುಬೈ ಅವರ 20 ನೇ ವರ್ಷದ, ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ 20 ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳ ವಿಂಶತಿ ಉತ್ಸವದ ನಂತರ ಅದ್ದೂರಿಯಾಗಿ ನಡೆದ ಸಮಾರೋಪ ಸಮಾರಂಭ "ವಿಂಶತಿ ವೈಭವ"

ದಿನವಡೀ ನಡೆದ ಸಂಭ್ರಮದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ನೃತ್ಯ, ಸಂಗೀತ, ಯಕ್ಷಗಾನ, ಸನ್ಮಾನ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ ಇದ್ದು ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನ ಭರ್ಜರಿ ಭೋಜನದ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಮಂಗಳೂರು ನಮ್ಮ ಕುಡ್ಲ ಅವರಿಂದ ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಲೈವ್ ಪ್ರಸರ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿ ಡುಂಡಿರಾಜ್ ಅವರ ಹಾಸ್ಯ ಭಾಷಣ, ರೋಹಿಣಿ ಆನಂತ್ ಅವರಿಂದ ಅಸ್ಸಾಂನ ಪ್ರಾಚೀನ ನೃತ್ಯ ಕಲೆ, "ಸತ್ರಿಯಾ" ಮತ್ತು "ದಕ್ಷ ದ್ವರ" ಯಕ್ಷಗಾನ ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಹಳೆಯ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರುಗಳು, ದುಬೈ/ಶಾರ್ಜಾ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಆತ್ಮೀಯರು ಭೇಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಉಭಯ ಕುಶಲೋಪರಿ ಮಾತುಕತೆ ಅದ್ಭುತವಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಸಮಾಜದ ಸದಸ್ಯರಿಂದ ರೋಮಾಂಚಕ ಕಂಸಾಳೆ ನೃತ್ಯ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ 

ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣ ಸಮಾಜದ ಸಂಚಾಲಕ ಸುಧಾಕರ್ ರಾವ್ ಪೇಜಾವರ್ ಅವರ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮ, ಶ್ರದ್ಧೆ, ಕಾರ್ಯ ವೈಖರಿ ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಸಮಾರಂಭದ ಯಶಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣ, ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅನಂತಾನಂತ ಅಭಿನಂದನೆಗಳು.
