VISITOR TO BIRTHI MANE

AUGUST 2012

He is Venkatramana, middle aged, with dhothi, shirt and a shoulder bag and a flute in his hand. He plays classical tunes on his flute melodiously and does the same in front of each house along the street.

We were fascinated by his talent and uses it to make a living...... must be poverty....... however, we called him in....... and he played some beautiful melodious classical songs and it was really good.....

I am sure community should do something to support such people and the government to give some assistance in cash or kind, may be called for some program as an accompanying artist.....

We also made a small contribution (Rs 100/-) for his performance......and he left after half hour.

INDEPENDENCE DAY - 2012

Coffee Board Park, Kempapura, Bengaluru

It's August 15 again........ way back in 1947, India got its much cherished independence from Britishers, after several years of freedom movement by Mahatma Gandhi and others.......

Today, after 65 years, many educated Indians feel that we didn't have to. Congress has been ruling for more than 50 years and still they are talking about GARIBI HATAO...... where as politicians are looting the country amassing wealth for next several generations....... they talk about people...... but hardly one of them have concern for common people and their hardships...... corruption and black money has reached unbelievable proportions....... Villages have no proper roads, water and other basic infrastructure.......
On the other hand ...... there is progress, cities have developed, population has increased to a greater proportion than the infrastructure development.......
Sad part is India doesn't have a strong leader......  politicians stoop to the hairarchy..., too selfish and vote bank and caste politics is too much....... Reservation is killing the progress...... able people are ruled by uncivilized, uneducated and manner less people......
President can not speak about the rampant corruption, black money....... but he speaks about the democratic principles, parliament and assembly.......
God Bless India......

RAGHAVENDRA SWAMY ARADHANE 2012

One of the most prominent among these Matadhipathies in Madhwa parampara is Shri Raghavendra Threertha Swamiji revered and worshipped as Kamadhenu and Kalpavruksha of Kaliyuga. By reciting the sloka

"Poojyaya Raghavendraya Sathya Dharma Rathayacha, Bhajatham Kalpavrukshaya Namataam Kaamadhenave".

A staunch devotee of Swamiji, Sri Appannacharya has said that by mere reciting the Astakshara Manthra "Om Shree Raghavendraya Namaha" one can fulfill all his aspirations.

An illiterate person called Venkanna became a Pandit and also Diwan by reciting this Astakshara manthra. As ordained by Shri Hari Vayu, Shri Raghavendra Swamiji blesses all living beings without discrimination. In view of this Mrithika Brindavan have come up in many areas / layouts of Bangalore to have his Sannidhan as close to his large devotees as possible.
Raghavendra Aradhana in 2012 is the 341st Aradhana Mahotsava of Sri Guru Raghavendra Swamy. Shri Raghavendra Swamy, a 16th century saint and Guru, advocated Vaishnavism and popularized the Dvaita philosophy of Madhvacharya. The Raghavendra Aradhana 2012 will be held at all Sri Raghavendra Swamy Temples all over on 3, 4 and 5 August.

So we along with Srdhar Bidarahalli family (Beegaru) went to Sri Raghavendra Swamy Temple at AGCS layout for pooja. There was heavy rush and we managed to have special lunch at the temple premises.......
God bless all........

RAKSHA BHANDAN

The traditional Hindu festival 'Raksha Bandhan' (knot of protection) was came into origin about 6000 years back when Aryans created first civilization - The Indus Valley Civilization. With many languages and cultures, the traditional method to Rakhi festival celebration differs from place to place across India. Following are some historical evidences of Raksha Bandhan celebration from the Indian history.

In India, festivals are the celebration of togetherness, of being one of the family. Raksha Bandhan is one such festival that is all about affection, fraternity and sublime sentiments. It is also known as Raksha Bandhan which means a 'bond of protection'. This is an occasion to flourish love, care, affection and sacred feeling of brotherhood, then the sister ties Rakhi to her brother and wishes for his happiness and well-being. In turn, the brother acknowledge the love with a promise to stand by his sister through all the good and bad times.
Daughter Shubha could meet up brother Rishikanth at famous ISCKON temple in Bangalore and celebrated raksha bandhan........tying traditional raakhi..... in the presence of Lahari, Chikkams and appa......good occasion to remember......
