SHRADDHANJALI - NAGAVENI

Sunday, 29th March 2020
BirthiMane, Bengaluru

Some memories of sister NAGAVENI, who finished her 82 years life journey , last Friday, 27th March at Tumakuru. Sons Nagaraja and Nataraja were with her when she breathed her last.

Nagaveni, born on 15th October 1937, as fifth child to my parents Venkatramana Somayaji and Kaveri at Birthi, Salekeri, Udupi Dist. (Then Dakshina Kannada). She grew up with hardship and I was born when Nagaveni was 11 years.

with sisters and Father
Life journey started when she married to Raghavendra Aithal from Padukere, Saligrama and they were running a small hotel in Bnegaluru. She didn't have children for some years and then she was blessed with sons named Nagaraja and Nataraja. When children were 1 to 3 years old, tragedy struck to the family, her husband died due to dog bite in Bangaluru.

July 2001, at Birthi, Salekeri
She had to return to Birthi, Salekeri and the children grew up there. In the mean time, my mother passed away and she was a great support to my father at home. Children went to school, college and completed their studies, Nagaraj completed M A and joined Karnataka Bank and Nataraja completed B E and started working. In the mean time, she had serious ailment for which she had undergone surgery and survived due to her strong will power.

It was time for her to stay with her children, and they got married, Nagaraj married to Shantala and have a daughter Medha, completed here engineering degree  Nataraja married to Jayanthi, have a son Neeraj, also completed his B. E.and working.

Recently, her ailment aggravated and she undergone further surgery at Tumakuru, as Nagaraja was Bank Manager there. She always was cursing herself as she was bedridden for about 6 months and eventually gave up and breathed her last.
