SRI SUDHAKER RAO PEJAVAR

Sri Sudhaker Rao Pejavar has been a friend, well wisher for last 38 years since 1986, the time of my Dubai Years .

Our family had been together on many ocassion, whether it is New Year Get-together, Birthday parties, or Picnic, Weddings etc

Since 2003, we were closely together for Dubai Brahmana Samaja activities, which we started together.

We were there, for his son Vikas Wedding in Feb 2016, His Shastabdi celebrations at Vidyapeeta, in July 2019, his new Apartment in March 2023, his recent Birthday at GeethaMandira, Udupi

His greatest effort was to celebrate "VIMSHATHI UTSAV", commemorating 20 years of Dubai Brahmana Samaja, 2023-2024, organizing 20 different programs throughout the year, culminating in Grand "VISHAMTHI VAIBHAV" in April 2024, a day long program, at wich we also travelled to Dubai to particiapte.

Last week he was awarded "ADHYATMIKA RATNA - 2024". on 25th August at Sri Guru Raghavendra Swami Aaraadhana Mahotsava at Ajaman, UAE.

Also on 26th August 2024, he was awarded with "SHRI KRISHANUGRAHA PRASHASTHI" by Paryaya Puttige Sripadaru, Sri Sugunendra Thirtha Swamiji, at Sri Krishna Janmasthami Celebrations, "SHRI KRISHNA MAASOTSAVA" at Rajangana, Sri Krishna Math. Udupi.

It's only his devotion, dedication and hardwork to religious program and social events, apart from his office work at Dubai.

He is also active member of "SUGAMA BHAJANE", Zoom online Bhajan Group, meeting once in a month.

We wish him long life, health and happiness, and May God shower him with more accolades and awards.

SHRI UTTARADI MATH

Shri Uttaradi Math, BasvanaGudi, Bengaluru.

The temple with Digvijaya Lakshmi Narasimha as main Deity is a amagnificient place with 6 floors of the temple premises.

The present Peethadhipathi (Pontiff) of Sri Uttaradi Math, is a Bachelor, master in Vedanta Philosophy.

It is only today we had chance to visit the temple and join the lunch program to remember Sri Sridhar Bidarahalli, who passed away recently.

Sanjeev Bidarahalli, son, performed all the rituals diligently and with full devotion, for last 14 days.

After Maha Mangalarathi at the main Temple, there was grand lunch with Holige and Mysuru Paak for the close relatives of Bidarahalli's.

We enjoyed the whole ambiance and the atmosphere of the temple and people's devotion.

The session started with Vishnu Sahasranama rendition followed by Omkaara and Ganesha Stuthi, followed by Bhahajane by individuals.

SAURA RIGUPAKARMA was performed by "Vipra Bhandavaru" of Dubai Brahmana Samaja, with all devotion and sincerity.

As it is part of Brahman Culture, young VATU is exposed to the rituals of Rigupakarma and its importance.

Dubai Brahmana Samaja is doing great service to the community by exposing the younsters also to be aware of the tradition and culture.

Varsha is dughter of Vidya-Vishwanath Avabratha couple, who were close family frineds in those Dubai years.

We have seen Varsha as school going pretty, shy girl, now she has chosen Nachiketh, who works in Vancover, Canada.

Our Dubai friends, who are now relocated in Bengaluru were there,

Surya-Lakshmi, Tara-Sridhar, Latha Sudhaker, Udayakumar, Aakash, Varun...

Celebrating the event, grand lunch follows with Holige, badam Burfi and other items.

Wedding is fixed for Sunday February 23, 2025 at Guru Narasimha Kalyana Mantapa, Bengaluru.

ರಕ್ಷಾ ಬಂಧನದ ಇತಿಹಾಸ ಹಾಗೂ ರಾಖಿಯ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿದೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ...!!!

ಶ್ರಾವಣ ಮಾಸ ಹುಣ್ಣಿಮೆ ವಿಶೇಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ‌ ರಕ್ಷಾಬಂಧನವೂ ಒಂದು ಹೌದು. ಇದನ್ನು ರಾಖಿ ಹಬ್ಬ ಎಂದೂ ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ. ರಕ್ಷಾ ಪದವೇ ರಾಖಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದು ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ. ‌ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಪೌರಾಣಿಕ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ‌ ಇದೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಆರಂಭಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದು ಈ ರಕ್ಷಾ ಬಂಧನ.

ಭಾತೃತ್ವವನ್ನು ಬೇಸೆಯುವ ಹಬ್ಬ :

ಇದು ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ದಿ ಪಡೆದಿರುವುದು ಭಾತೃತ್ವದ ದ್ಯೋತಕವಾಗಿ. ಯಾಕೆ ಬಂದಿತು ಮತ್ತು ಹೇಗೆ ಬಂದಿತು ಎನ್ನುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಪುರಾಣ ಕಥೆಗಳು ಹೇಳುತ್ತವೆ. ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಬಲಿಷ್ಠನಾಗಿದ್ದ ರಾಕ್ಷಸರ ರಾಜನಾದ ಬಲಿಗೆ ಭಗವಾನ್ ವಿಷ್ಣುವು ವರವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದ. ಅದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಅಜೇಯನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿತು. ಯಾರೂ ಸೋಲಿಸದಂತ ಮಹತ್ತ್ವವುಳ್ಳ ವರವಾಯಿತು. ವಿಷ್ಣು ವರವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟರು ಭಯವಾಗಿದ್ದು ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀದೇವಿಗೆ. ವಿಷ್ಣುವಿನ ಪತ್ನಿಯಾದ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ದೇವಿಯು ತನ್ನ ಪತಿಯನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾಂಡವನ್ನು ಬಲಿಯಿಂದ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಲು ಉಪಾಯ ಮಾಡಿದಳು. ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ದೇವಿಯು ಬಲಿಯ ಮಣಿಕಟ್ಟಿನ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಪವಿತ್ರವಾದ ಸೂತ್ರವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿದಳು. ಅಷ್ಟು ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ ಅವನನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರ ಎಂದು ಘೋಷಿಸಿದಳು. ಇದರಿಂದ ಬಲಿಯ ಸಹೋದರಿಯಾಗಿ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀ ಹಾಗೂ ವಿಷ್ಣುವು ಸಹೋದರಿಯ ಪತಿಯಾಗಿಯೂ ಇರುವ ಕಾರಣ ಅವರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಹೊಣೆಗಾರಿಕೆ ಬಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿತು.

ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಕಥೆ ಮಹಾಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವ ಪ್ರಸಂಗ:

ರಾಜಸೂಯ ಯಾಗದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ದುಷ್ಟನಾದ ಶಿಶುಪಾಲನ ಶಿರಚ್ಛೇದವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣನ ಬೆರಳಿಗೆ ಗಾಯವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಆಗ ಪಾಂಡವರ ಪತ್ನಿ ದ್ರೌಪದಿಯು ತನ್ನ ಸೀರೆಯ ತುಂಡನ್ನು ಹರಿದು ಕೃಷ್ಣನ ಬೆರಳಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿದಳು. ರಕ್ತಸ್ರಾವವನ್ನು ತಡೆದಳು. ಕೃಷ್ಣನು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರತಿಯಾಗಿ, ದ್ರೌಪದಿಯನ್ನು ಯಾವುದೇ ತೊಂದರೆಯಿಂದ ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವುದಾಗಿ ಭರವಸೆ ನೀಡಿದನು.

ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಘಟನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿತ್ತೂರಿನ ರಾಣಿ :- ಕರ್ಣಾವತಿಯು ಗಂಡನನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡು ವೈಧವ್ಯದ ಜೀವನ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಳು. ಆಗ ಆಕೆಯು ಚಕ್ರವರ್ತಿ ಹುಮಾಯುನನಿಗೆ ರಾಖಿಯನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದಳು. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣ ಚಕ್ರವರ್ತಿ ಬಹದ್ದೂರ್ ಷಾನು ಈಕೆಯ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಮೇಲೆ ದಂಡೆತ್ತಿ ಬರುವ ನಿರ್ಧಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದನು. ಆಗ ಆಕೆಯು ಹುಮಾಯೂನನ ಸಹಾಯವನ್ನು ಬಯಸಿ ರಾಖಿಯನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಳು.ಇದನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿದ ಹುಮಾಯೂನನು ತನ್ನ ಸೇನೆಯನ್ನು ರಾಣಿ ಕರ್ಣಾವತಿಯ ಸಹಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಧಾವಿಸುವಂತೆ ಸೂಚಿಸಿದನು. ಆದರೆ ಸೈನ್ಯವು ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ತಲುಪಲು ತಡವಾಯಿತು. ಇದೇ ವೇಳೆಗೆ ರಾಣಿ ಕರ್ಣಾವತಿಯು ಇತರೆ ಹೆಂಗಸರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕೂಡಿ, ತನ್ನ ಮಾನ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಗಾಗಿ ಜೌಹರ್ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಪ್ರಾಣ ತ್ಯಾಗ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಳು. ಮುಂದೆ ಬಹದ್ದೂರ್ ಷಾನನ್ನು ಹುಮಾಯೂನ್ ಹೊರಗೆ ಹಾಕಿ, ಕರ್ಣಾವತಿಯ ಮಗ ವಿಕ್ರಮಜೀತನನ್ನು ಸಿಂಹಾಸನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂರಿಸಿದನು.

ಹೀಗೆ ಭಾರತೀಯರು ಭ್ರಾತೃತ್ವವನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಲು, ತೊಂದರೆಯಿಂದ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲೂ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರು ಈ ಹಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಪುರುಷರೂ ಸಹೋದರಿಯನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಹೊಣೆಗಾರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು, ಆಕೆಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಆಕೆಯ ಪರಿವಾರಕ್ಕೆ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯಾಗಿರುವುದು ಹಬ್ಬದ ಉದ್ದೇಶ. ರಕ್ಷಾ ಬಂಧನವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಬೇಕು. ಈ ಹಬ್ಬವು ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಬಲಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀ ದೇವಿಯ ನಡುವಿನ ಭಾತೃತ್ವವನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿದೆ.
