Sri S M Krishna, former visionary Chief Minister of Karnataka, who transormed Bengaluru in to IT City,  former Minister of External Affairs, Former Governer of Maharashtra, a seasoned polititician, passed away at the age of 92 years at Bengaluru.

He was a Congresman all through his career, alligiance to Gandhi family was a good Gentleman , not a contravercial politician. 

He changed his alligiance to Bharatiya Janata Party, two years ago, after seeing the Prime Minsiter Sri Narendra Modi, doing excellent job, leading the nation.

During his tenure as Chief Minister of Karnataka, popular Kannada Actor Rajkumar was kidna[[ed by Notorious Gangster Veerappan. With utmost effort , he was released after more the 100 days of captivity in the forest.

With lot pomp and paegentry, and parade, he was laid to rest in his native place Somanahaali.

GANA HOMA @ RAMACHANDRA SOMAYAJI

Ramachandra Somayaji, cousin brother performed "GANA HOMA" pooja at his home in Sahakaranagara, with many relatives and well wishers invited.

Mangalarathi and Poornaahuthi was performed.

Grand lunch followed with Holige and burfi with other ususal items, followed by takeaway sweets.

FAMILY FUNFAIR - DUBAI BRAHMANA SAMAJA

Al Nakheel Park, Awr, Dubai

The annual family funfair of the Dubai Brahmana Samaja took place at the Al Nakhel Park, Awir, Dubai, with large number of families participating.

There were fung ames for childrem, adults, food and prizes.

The spirit of friendship and togetherness of Brahmana Samaja, as it is 21st Family Picnic, started December 2003.

TEMPLES VISIT

Temples near Mysuru, Hunsur.

Hunsur Gang people started late from Satisha's House, after heavy breakfast.

The following temples were visited:

1. Sri Ramadevaru Devasthana- Chnchanakatte.

About 30 km from Hunsur, the place has beautiful surroundings, tourist spot and the deity is Ramadevaru and Anjaneya.

Being Sunday, lot of visitors and devotes come to the temple and enjoy the view of waterfalls.

2. Sri Arakeshwari Temple, ChamarajaNagara.

About 20 Km from Chunchanakatte, the Gang proceeded to another Shiva Temple, ARAKESHWARI Temple, 

Again on the banks of River Cauvery, the is very old and still the architecture and puillars are very strong.

After Lunch at a hotel, we proceeded to Srirangapatna.

3. Sri Ranganatha wamy Temple, Srirangapatana.

The temple is 1400 years old and is famous for its historical landmark, and is dedicated to Lord Ranganatha (Manifestation of Lord Vishnu)

Since large number of people visit the place, lot of shops and horse riding etc.

The main shrine consists of the idol of Lord Vishnu in a reclining posture. The idols sit the coils of the snake Adishesha Naag with seven hoods. There is an idol of Goddess Lakshmi at its feet. Also, you can see various smaller shrines inside the complex, such as those dedicated to Narasimha, Garuda, Gopalkrishna, and Hanuman.

From there we left for Brngaluru, reached home, BirthiMane at 10pm

HAPPY BIRTHDAY - SANTHOSH

Satisha's House, Hunsur.

That was November 30, midnight, 12.00 , all present were waiting for clock to tick 12 O'clock, for it was Santhosh's Happy Birthday.

 

Santhosh is brother of SupriyaPrem, who lives and works in Phoenix, USA and she was here on holidays.

Santhosh is son of VijayaLakshmi (Nalini's Sister) and RamachandraBhat, who lives in Kadiyali, Udupi.

Birthday cake was cut with song, Happy Birthday Santhosh.....

Cake pieces were distributed ....

Once again, MANY MANY HAPPY RETURNS OF THE DAY SANTHOSH.

MATHIGODU ELEPHANT CAMP

Mathigodu, Kodagu Dist.

We were on a wekend trip to Hunsur, 210 km from Bengaluru. and from there 40 km to Mathigodu Elelphant Camp.

We were there at 4.30 pm, after having lunch at Satisha (Nalini's brother).

We went in Rishi's XUV700, with Kavitha and son Atharv.

Capitalising on its popularity, the Forest Department has revamped the Mathigodu Elephant Camp into a tourist hub while prioritising safety measures. This camp falls within the precincts of the Nagarahole Tiger Reserve, adding to its allure. 

The Forest Department has spent Rs. 1 crore towards its development. In an endeavour to raise awareness about human-wildlife conflicts, concerted efforts are underway to educate tourists visiting the Mathigodu Elephant Camp about wildlife conservation. This initiative seeks to foster a deeper understanding of the delicate balance between human settlements and wildlife habitats, with the hope of mitigating such conflicts in the future.

Currently, the Mathigodu Elephant Camp is home to a distinguished herd of 17 elephants. Among them are Abhimanyu, Bhima, Mahendra, Ravi, Somashekhar, Masti, Ashoka, Kyaata, Chamundeshwari, Bhuvaneshwari, Srikanta, Abhi (Zoo elephant), Rama, Ekalavya and two forest elephants.
