THULASI POOJA@BirthiMane

Monday 23November2015
We observed Thulasi pooja at home with lighting lamp, decorating with flowers, offering "naivadya" and the arthi to Thulasi-Nellikai (Amalalli) branch.
Thulasi or Basil is one of the most sacred of plants revered by people of all faiths, if not for its use in the worship of Lord Maha Vishnu, for its medicinal properties. When Lord Krishna proclaims in the Bhagavad Gita that He is satisfied with a leaf, a flower or a drop of water, the significance of the Thulasi leaf in the worship of the Lord becomes clear. Called Brinda, she attracts Krishna who loves to reside amongst the Thulasi plants in Brindavana.
Thulasi is worshipped on the twelfth day of the new moon in the month of Karthikai. The day is called Uttana Dvadasi or Brindavana dvadasi. On this day, lighting a ghee lamp near the Thulasi plant, decorating it with flowers and offering our prayers to Thulasi devi will bring us immense happiness and joy and ultimate union with Lord Krishna.
Uttaana Dwaadasi is celebrated as Thulasi festival known as Thulasi Damodara Vivaha, symbolically worshiping Thulasi along with Salagrama Shila (Lord Vishnu) and by erecting a branch of Amla tree (AmalakkiI). This ritual is also known as Prabhodotsava sacred occasion of Lord Vishnu getting up from His Yoganidra in the presence of holy and divine Thulasi.

DEVILS CIRCUIT - @BENGALURU

Went to an event "DEVILS CIRCUIT" at Yalahanka, Bengaluru on Sunday, 01November2015.
It was me, amma, Ravi and Rishi, about 15 km from here, near Nitte Engg. College, around 10.30am, when the registration were already closed. It was disappointment for my boys.
It was big treat to see the youngsters, boys and girls, brimming with vigour, enthusiasm and energy.
It's for building up challenge for fitness. Registration fee was Rs1500/- and almost 3000 participants!

Also there were stage for music, dance and presentation, cross fit, and food stalls.
Devils Circuit is India’s first and, by far, the BIGGEST Obstacle Running series.
Then, Devils Circuit is the TOUGHEST challenge you’ll ever encounter! Designed to thrash you out of your comfort zone, Devils Circuit will present challenges unheard of! But, only to inspire you, motivate you, drive you towards achieving absolute FITNESS!

Our Contribution
Interesting obstacles you can expect at the Devil’s Circuit:
Bloody Logs : These are wooden logs placed in a manner that every individual has to jump over or crawl under them to move ahead in the course. The logs ensure that running enthusiasts take a halt and use their lower limb to generate power.
Hells Nets : One of the favourites of the Defense fraternity, this obstacle requires athletes to use their forearm strength to crawl across a net suspended in air. Balance and stability are equally important in overcoming this challenge.
Stairway to Hell: Stacks of hay, shaped like a pyramid, are designed to ensure a continuous ascend and descend for the runners.
Devils Swing: This obstacle reminds one of the monkey swings of childhood. A test of upper body strength; this challenge will see athletes moving forward using their shoulders without any support of the lower body.
Pools of Shrill: This obstacle comes straight out of the notebook of festival holi. This segment of the course will involve a splurge in the chilly, muddy water for the participants.
Torture Trenches: True to their name, torture trenches will have barb wires to keep the participant on their knees. The wires and muddy ground will keep everyone in close proximity to mother earth
Tire Trawls: This challenge consists of over 100 tyres spread across 100 meters. These wheels make normal running impossible and forces all enthusiasts to hop and run.
