CHAMPAKADHAMA SWAMY TEMPLE- BANNERAGHATTA

Friday, 15th December 2017

Before attending beegara outhana and grand lunch at AnanthaRao's house at Nandanavana, we the six, visited ChampakaDhamaSwamy temple at BanneraGhatta.

It's about 25 km from Bengaluru and takes lot of time due to traffic.

ChampakaDhama Swamy Temple is one of the oldest temples in Bengaluru, believed to be built during Hoysala period, in 12th century.

The temple deity is ChampakaDhama (Incarnation of Lord Vishnu), along with Goddesses Lakshmi and Bhoodevi.

It's near BanneraGhatta National Park, and one can combine the visit to park and the temple.

Behind the temple, on the rocky hills, the re is beautiful, recently renovated   Lakshmi Narasimha Temple. There are about 75-80 steps to climb the hill and it is very pleasant and comfortable with picturesque view of BanneraGhatta.

It was a pleasant visit to the place and the darshan of deities.
