NMKRV College, Mangala Mantapa, Jayanagara, Bengaluru

Hiremegaluru Kannan is a celebrity Kannada Poojari (Temple priest) and an excellent orator and conversationist and the punch with his speech is excellent. HireMagalur is small town near ChikkaMagalur and the temple there has become famous because of Kannan. His speciality is that pooja and mantra all will be kannada thought the original is in Sanskrit.

NamoBharat, a group supporting PM Narendra Modi has organized a "HARATE" program to enlighten the public about the new programs and accomplishments of Narendra Modi Government.
Kannan was the co-ordinator for the program and he, with his punching remarks and apt humour was at his best.

There were other speakers participated in the Harate program, notably Sri Giridhar Upadhyaya, Smt. Shakuntala Ayyar, Shreyank Ranade and Akshatha Bajpe.

It was three rounds of speakers talk on various issues and in between Kannan giving his punches on the subject. It was very interesting.

KANNADA DRAMA - SAALADALLONDU SAMSARA

Sunday, 23rd September 2018
K H Kala Soudha, NammaBengaluru.

"Utsaahi Kalavidaru" (ಉತ್ಸಾಹಿ ಕಲಾವಿದರು) presented a 90-minute Kannada Comedy Drama at K H KalaSoudha, Bengaluru.

The play did not attract much attention as it contained only dialogues from a lower-middle income person living with his wife.

He manages his loans, house rent, wife's demands just by fooling around and presenting a comedy dialogues.

It was not very interesting as presentation was only drab and nothing much to laugh.

However, we sat through 90 minutes of the play.

YAKSHAGANA - SWAMI KORAGAJJA - TULU

Saturday, 22nd September 2018
TaralaBalu Kendra, R T. Nagara, NammaBengaluru.

An excellent Yakshagana (Field Drama / Dance Ballet ) was performed by the artists from Tulukoota, Bengaluru. The heritage, culture, beliefs from TuluNadu, Coastal Karnataka was superbly brought out on stage with dance, dialogues, story, singing, costume, and presentation.

It is very amazing to see the coordination between the artists, singing with accompanying artist on mridanga and chande, and the dialogues that follow. It really requires dedication, perseverance  and devotion to the performing art. All the artists, mature, performed very well.

A low cast person Thaniya goes with load to offer to nearby deity's place as donation. He was not allowed to enter the place as he was untouchable. With his firm belief in God, he presents it with objection from the temple administrators.

Devi was pleased with his offerings and made him as super human "Koragajja".

Another story is brothers Narendra and Dharmendra ruled a Kingdom. Both of them fall in love the same girl start fighting. Mother intervenes and advises Narendra being elder, should see the welfare of the citizens and the family and he should make his brother to marry the girl.

He agrees and also makes Dharmedra as ruler to look after the kingdom  and goes for penance.

"Bhoota Kola" is traditional power center and people of TuluNadu strongly believes in the advises of the person believed to be incarnation of the deity. People respect the messages and follow the orders.

The show was mesmerizing, though the language is Tulu, but meanings and story is very clear.
