We visited Tyavare Koppa Lion and Tiger Safari, 10Km from Shimoga. It was on our way back from Sagar.
It was a last minute decision, since we were already on the road. We spent little more than an hour for safari and walking around the zoo and the park.The entry fee per person is Rs 30, camera charges Rs 50, and the safari is Rs 70
The safari is for an hour. When we entered there was lot of rush, people waiting in the long queue. The safari bus was about to leave and they were looking for three in a group to join. So we bought the tickets and joined the bus immediately.
At Tyavarekoppa Lion and Tiger Safari, we could witness to the grace, variety, color as well as wonder of nature world plus catch bracing glimpses of Tigers, Lions, Leopards, Sloth Bear, Deer, and occasional wandering birds since they wander around in luxuriant surroundings.
One could also spend an hour in the zoo. The tourism department could do lot better to cater the needs of tourists. Restaurant, gift shops and restrooms could added. However it is very good tourist attraction.
