WEDDING ANNIVERSARY - NALINI/JAYARAMA

It has been 45 years since we were married on this day, at Puttige Mutt, Udupi.

We were at Ravi's apartment (Sallapuria Celesta, K R Puram), a yummy cake was prepared and was cut with grand daughter Urvi.

It was special day (Grand Parents Day) at Urvi School (Flomont World School), we were also there to join the celebrations. 

Returned to the apartment after visiting Raghavendra Swamy/ Ganeshsa temple at ITI Layout (DooravaniNagara), K R Puram.

Life has taken us from Yola, Guyuk in Nigeria (for 6 years) and in Dubai, UAE for 24 years and we were back in motherland living in Bengaluru since 2010.

Family has grown with daughter Shubha, Raghu and grand daughter Lahari,

son Ravi, Vidya and grand daughter Urvi,

son Rishi, Kavitha and grandson Atharv....

It was a day to remember and cherish...

Grand Daughter URVI  was very excited about Grand Parents' Day in their School.

She got up at 6 in the morning to go to School.

That was get-together for the grandparents of LKG children of the School. 

A senior teacher read out a story for the children, and then they are asked to dance for nursery song.

At the Sunandi Holistic Care, it has become routine for residents to gather for Bhajan and Satsang session with Somayaji and Ramakrishna Bhat, every Thursday evening.

ಅಡುಗೆ ಮಾಡುವುದು - ಶೋಭಾ ಸೋಮಯಾಜಿ

ಅಡುಗೆ ಮಾಡುವುದು ಒಂದು ರೀತಿಯ ಧ್ಯಾನಾವಸ್ಥೆ. ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಇದನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪುತ್ತಾರೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೋ ನನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ಅಡುಗೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ ಉಣ ಬಡಿಸಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಖುಷಿಗೆ ಅಡುಗೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಮನಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಉಳ್ಳವರು ಇದನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂದು ನನ್ನ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ.

ಅಂದಿನಂದಿನ ಅಡುಗೆಗೆ ತರಕಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಆರಿಸಿ, ತೊಳೆದು, ಮಣೆಯ ಮೇಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ನಮಗೆ ಬೇಕಾದ ಆಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ/ಗಾತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚುವುದೇ ಒಂದು ತಾದಾತ್ಮ್ಯದ ಕೆಲಸ. ಹೆಚ್ಚಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಹದವಾಗಿ ಬೇಯಿಸಿ, ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಬೇಕಾಗುವ ಮಸಾಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಣ್ಣ ಬೆಂಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಹದಕ್ಕೆ ಹುರಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಮಸಾಲೆಯನ್ನು ತಯಾರಿಸುವುದು ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಕ್ರಿಯೆ. ಅದನ್ನು ಮಿಕ್ಸರ್/ಗ್ರೈಂಡರ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ರುಬ್ಬಿ, ಬೆಂದ ತರಕಾರಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿಸಿ, ಉಪ್ಪು-ಹುಳಿ-ಸಿಹಿ ಸೇರಿಸಿ ಹದವಾಗಿ ಕುದಿಸಿ, ಒಗ್ಗರಣೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಾಗ ಅಡುಗೆ ಮನೆಯಿಡಿ ಆವರಿಸುವ ಅದರ ಘಮಲು ಆಹ್ಲಾದಕರವಾದ ಅನುಭವ ಕೊಡುವಂತಹುದು. ಈ ಇಡೀ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗೆ ತಗಲುವ ಸಮಯ ಕಡಿಮೆಯೆಂದರೂ ಅರ್ಧ ಘಂಟೆಯ ಅವಧಿ. ಈ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಾವು ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಒಂದು ರುಚಿಕರ ಪದಾರ್ಥ ಮಾಡಿದಾಗ ಸಿಗುವ ಖುಷಿ ಆಸೀಮವಾದುದು. ಇಲ್ಲೊಂದು “ಹೊಸ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿ” ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಹಲವಾರು ಬಗೆಯ ವಸ್ತುಗಳು ಅವುಗಳ ಮೂಲರೂಪ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೊಸ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಗೆ ಹೋಗಲು ತಯಾರಾಗುವುದು ಹೊಸ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯೇ ತಾನೆ?

ಅಡುಗೆ ಬರೀ ಒಂದು ಸಾರು/ಸಾಂಬಾರಿಗೆ ಸೀಮಿತವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಬಗೆಬಗೆಯ ತಿಂಡಿ ತೀರ್ಥಗಳ ವಿಶಾಲ ಲೋಕವದು! ಒಂದು ಲೋಟ ಚಹಾ ತಯಾರಿಸುವುದು ಕೂಡಾ ಆ ಅಡುಗೆಮನೆಯ ಲೋಕದ ಒಂದು ಕೆಲಸ. ಅತೀ ಸಣ್ಣ ಕೆಲಸವಾದ ಚಹಾ ತಯಾರಿಗೆ ಕೂಡಾ ಅದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವಷ್ಟು ಹೊತ್ತು ನಾವು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ತೊಡಗಿಕೊಂಡಿರಬೇಕು. ಆಗ ಮಾತ್ರ ಸೊಗಸಾದ ಚಹಾ ಸೇವನೆಗೆ ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. 

ಅಡುಗೆಯ ವೈವಿಧ್ಯತೆಯೇ ಒಂದು ಸುಂದರವಾದ ಪ್ರಪಂಚ. ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಶ್ರಮ, ಗಮನ, ಸಮಯವನ್ನು ವ್ಯಯಿಸುವುದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಒಂದಿಷ್ಟು ಪ್ರೀತಿಯೆಂಬ ಅಂಶವನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಆಗ ನಾವು ಮಾಡುವ ಅಡುಗೆಗೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ರುಚಿ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ. ಆ ವಿಶೇಷ ರುಚಿಯ ಅಡುಗೆಯನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಸವಿದಾಗ ಸಿಗುವ ಆನಂದ ಒಂದು ಸುಂದರ ಅನುಭೂತಿಯನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮೊಳಗೆ ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಆನಂದಾನುಭೂತಿ ಸಿಗುವ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಯೇ ಧ್ಯಾನವಲ್ಲವೆ?!

A large number of Brahmins from Dubai and Sharjah gathered in the morning of 5th September 2025, at Sri Vasu Bhat's residence for participating in "Saura Righupaakarma" , a ritual that all men and Brahmachari undergo once in a year.

TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE (BLOOD MOON)

On the night of 7 - 8 September 2025, a total Lunar eclpise was observed for 82 minutes. The moon appeared reddish glow, called BLOOD MOON.

A lunar eclipse occurs when Earth slips between the the Sun and the Moon, causing its shadow across the lunar surface.. The Moon's reddish glow is due to sunlight refracted through Earth's atmosphere.

As there was clouds, the blood moon could not be seen.
