 Monday, August 3, 2026

Sri Subramanyeshwara Kshetra, Gattavadi, Nanjangud Tk. Mysuru Dist.

Pumsavana Homa is an ancient Hindu prenatal ritual performed to pray for a healthy child, protect the pregnancy, and support the well-being of the mother. It is the second of the sixteen traditional life-stage sacraments.

Usually performed during the 3rd or 4th month of pregnancy, before the baby begins to move in the womb.To stabilize the fetus, prevent miscarriage, and invoke divine blessings for good physical and mental development.
Priests or family members offer ghee, honey, and specific healing herbs into a consecrated fire. Mantras are chanted to invoke deities like Brahma and Vishnu to safeguard the unborn child from harm.

We were there at the venue to bless SHAMA - ABHIJITH,  and to witness the program. The place about 200 km from here, hired a driver and went in my car.

Our Blessings to would be mother and father.

After the pooja, grand lunch was arranged, after which we left from the place and reached home by 9pm, after visiting Nanjudeshwara Temple at Nanjangu,  Usha Cukkemane at Mysuru.

We, Usha, Gayatri
