We also visited their relation's (VanajaUsha's sister Bharthi) house at Cheyindane, a typical village atmosphere house with so much warmth in their hospitality. The house is like a resort in the middle of coffee estate and paddy fields.  We had nice food in the evening and returned to Giri Sir's house at VirajaPete.

The next morning after breakfast, we left for Madikeri.

KANNADA DRAMA - SANDARBHA (ಸಂದರ್ಭ)

Wednesday, 11th April 2018
Ravindra Kalakshetra, NammaBengaluru.

"SANDARBHA" is a Kannada Drama by the group RANGASAMPADA.

It's political satire depicting what is actually happening in corridor of power and the people in politics.

It clearly shows how people cheat, no respect for colleagues, cheat behind the back for position, no vision, goal or ideals. Only greed for power, which push them to go to any mean or low level.

Chandrappa is a decent guy, who wants to protest against the injustice to poor and farmers, joins the party of ideals with leader Mayanna, elderly man, who has been an MLA for four times.

Due to his old age and health issues he advises his followers to support Chandrappa, who stands for election and wins.

He criticizes the Government policies and the Chief Minister in the assembly. The CM plans a case involving smuggling against Chandrappa. This makes him to join the ruling party and becomes a minister. Another dissident group involving party president decides to topple CM and takes the case to the HighCommand, gets the consent to make Chandrappa as CM and they succeed.

With all these issues, Chandrappa's wife gets disturbed and packs and leaves the house.

The dialogues, acting and the presentation were excellent. The party supporters group and reporters acted very well, showing what's happening in the real political drama.

VISITING PLACES - IRUPU FALLS - KODAGU (COORG)

Saturday 7th April 2018

We planned for a three day trip to Coorg (Kodagu) and reached VirajPete Friday evening after having lunch at UshaSuresh Cukkemane at Mysuru. They also joined us for the trip, going around in my Mahindra KUV100. with me in the driver's seat.

Our host, Major VenkataGiri Saya and his wife Vanaja also joined us, as six of us comfortably could go in my KUV.

The Irupu Falls is located in the BrahmaGiri range of Kodagu District, Karnataka. It is a fresh water cascade an is situated at a distance of 48 Km from VirajaPete.

The falls is also known as the Lakshmana Tirtha Falls, derived from the name of the tributary of Cauvery which starts from these falls, Lakshmana Tiratha River.

There is a huge Shiva Temple, The Rameshwara Temple situated on the banks of the Lakshmana Tirtha River, en route to the falls.

The time of the year we went was summer, there wasn't gush of water, but beautiful sight of waterfalls was there. We have to walk a distance, climb up the steps, not well maintained, to reach the spot where the water falls. Many people were standing under the water and getting Tirtha sprinkled on them.

After spending about an hour, we walked back and had lunch at a mess.

Returned to Virajpete by 4 pm.

BIRTHIMANE - WISHFUL THINKING AND PRAYERS

3rd  April 2018, Tuesday

I am very much attracted and mesmerized by sloka (verse) in sanskrit, I heard, came across recently, which makes a lot of meaning.

No one is sure of his/her last day in this planet. During life one has lot of commitment, joy, sorrow, ambition, ego, selfishness, hatred, which comes to an end when he/she takes his last breath.

The verses goes like this.

anaayaasena maranam|
bina dainyena jeevanam|
dehanthe thava saanidhyam|
dehime parameshwara|

The above verses have lost of meaning:

Give a death without pain,
Give me a life where I am not dependent on any one,
Let no one has to help me to sit up, lie down and feed me,
Let me be Par-vash, (independent)
In mruthyu (death), may I have only your darshanam,
Hey Prabhu, grant me these requests.

It's not being devotional or philosophical, but just a thought.
