This play unlike the original script which was about Roopa Kanwar the Sati case in Rajhastan has turned out into a love story. Shivaram Karanth in his Sarasammana Samadhi narrates how different women will behave in situations similar to Roopa Kanwar.  Masti Kallu's reference is taken to prove to people that love exists in all situations & Masti Kallu refers to our play being witness to one such instance.  That instance is the just of the play.

Masti Kallu is Prakasam's 16th production written and directed by Giriraj BM. This love story is inspired from Shivarama Karanth's epic novel "Sarasammana Samadhi". We are celeberating Kannada literature with this production.

ಪುರುಷ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ "ಜೀವನದ ಅನೇಕ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಮತ್ತು ಶರೀರಗಳೆರಡೂ ಅವನ ಸೊತ್ತು; ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರ ಅಸ್ತಿತ್ವವಿಲ್ಲ" ಎಂಬ ಭಾವನೆ ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ದೇಶ ಮತ್ತು ಮತಗಳು ಸಾರುತ್ತ ಬಂದಿವೆ. ಪ್ರಾಣಿ ಜೀವನ ಪರಿಶೀಲಕರು ಅಂಥ ಕಲ್ಪನೆ ತೀರ ಅಸಾಧು ಎಂದು ನಮಗೆ ಸುಲಭದಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿಯಾರು. ಆಧುನಿಕ ಮನಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಜ್ಞರು ಅದನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಬಲ್ಲರು. ಆದರೆ, ಯಾರ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯೇ ಆಗಲಿ, ತನ್ನ ಜನಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ವಿಧಿಸಿದ ವರ್ತನೆಗಳ ಬೆನ್ನಿಗೆ, ಪಾಪ-ಪುಣ್ಯ, ನ್ಯಾಯ-ನೀತಿ, ಸ್ವರ್ಗ-ನರಕಗಳ ನಂಬಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಸೆಯುತ್ತ ಬಂದಿರುವುದರಿಂದ, ಅದರಿಂದಾಗಿ ಅಸಂಖ್ಯರು ಮನೋದಾಸ್ಯದಿಂದ ಬಂಧಿತರಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ, ನಮ್ಮ ನಾಡಿನ ಪರಂಪರೆ ಸಾರುತ್ತಿರುವ 'ನೀತಿ'ಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸುವ ಧೈರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿಯವರು ತಳೆದಿಲ್ಲ; ಆ ಸಾಹಸಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯ ವರ್ಗವೇ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಕಪಟ ಜೀವನ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಒಂದು ಜಾತಿಯಗಿದೆ. ಅದು ಪರರ ವಿಚಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವೆಲ್ಲ ನಿಯತ್ತು, ಶಿಕ್ಷೆ, ದೋಷಾರೋಪಣೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಸಿದ್ದವೋ, ತನ್ನ ವಿಷಯ ಬಂದಾಗ, ತನ್ನನ್ನು ತಾನು ತೂಗಬೇಕಾಗಿ ಬಂದಾಗ, ತನ್ನ ನಡೆಗಳನ್ನು ತಾನು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಲೇ ಬೇಕಾದಾಗ, ಆ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಯಾವ ಸಂಕೋಚವೂ ಇಲ್ಲದಂತೆ ವರ್ತಿಸುತದೆ. ಅಂಥ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನ ಗಂಡಸು ಮತ್ತು ಹೆಂಗಸರ ನಡುವಣ ದಾಂಪತ್ಯದ ಚಂಚಲ ಸಂಬಂದಗಳನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಈ ಕಾದಂಬರಿ ಚಿತ್ರಿಸಿದೆ..

The drama was quite entertaining and thought provoking. All the actors acted supebly and Annappa Kamthi, Venkatramaniah, Sunalini, and others were simply excellent.
