Padma Kumta, Film actress ( Chomana Dudi fame) and TV serial artist passed away recently
(6th March 2017), owing to sudden heart failure on the sets with make up.
A "SHRADDHANJALI" program was organized by Karnataka ChalanaChitra Academy, Bengaluru at Chamundeshwari Studio, with the screening of Chomana Dudi Film.
Film industry people like M K SundarRaj, Gayatri Prabhakar, N R VishuKumar, S V Rajendra Singh Babu and few others were there. All spoke praising the person "PadmaKumta" as a person, actress and a celebrity. At the age of 17, she became famous with her superb acting in the Shivarama Karntha's novel Chomana Dudi Film, directed by B V Karanth, more than 40 years ago. Since then she has been acting in films and TV serials in various roles.
As the fate decided, she breathed he last with the make-up, probably for her dedication and love for acting.
As we had a friendly relationship with the family and they visited us in Dubai few years ago when we were living and working there.
