Shivarama Karantha Vedike, R T Nagara, celebrated Rajyotsava 2018 at TaralaBalu Center with lectures from distinguished personalities.

As I was out of station, traveled to Tirupathi with family, I could not attend the program.

It was a well organized and well attended program as usual with untiring effort of Secretary, Mr P. Chandrashekara Chadaga.

TEMPLE VISIT - TIRUMALA-TIRUPATHI VISIT NOV 2018

Nalini's sister,  VijayaLakshmi 's SupriyaPrem, working in Pheonix, U .S. planned for visit to famous BhooKalisa Venkateshwara Temple at TirumalaTirupathi.

As she included us also, and booked for Lord Venkateshwara Darshan on 24th Nov. 1 pm slot. We (Me, Nalini, VijayaLakshmi and Supriya ) started of from our house, BirthiMane, Bengaluru early morning 4.30 with Raghu (Nalini's relation) in the taxi.

After having breakfast at some hotel, we reached Tirumala Udupi Mutt at 11.30 am.

Having checked in at the mutt for night's stay, I went for Darshan Token for senior citizen and got a token for 3 pm visit. They went for special darshan (Rs 300/-) I had nice lunch at Uttaradi Mutt.

I reached for Darshan for seniors at 3.00 pm and unfortunately entrance was closed and I couldn't go for Darshan at that time.

As another option of availing token darshan at 7.00pm , free tokens were taken with presentation of aadhar card, and joined the long queue walking almost 2 km between the rods and finally reached the enclosures for waiting pilgrims. After waiting there with thousands of other devotees for couple of hours, and again going in the line for an hour, we reach our destination at 10.30 pm and had the darshan of Deity Lord Venkateshwara.

It's amazing that once you see the deity for 10 seconds, you feel all your trauma reaching place disappears and it's really energizing the whole system. One can't stop thinking there is mighty power that attracts lakhs of devotees everyday for blessings from Lord Venkateshwara. no matter what is the hurdles of reaching the place.

We reached the room at 11.30pm and rested for the day.

Next morning, started early at 5am, came down the hill to Tirupathi and visited Padmavathi temple and Sri GovindRaja Swamy Temple (where you see the reclining Venkateshwara).

As it was time for pooja and Managalarathi, both the places, we had to wait for darshan for an hour.

We left Tirupathi at 10.30am and had lunch at Saravana Bhavana at MulaBagilu,
and also visited Ravi-Vidya at their Salapuria Sattva, Celesta apartment at K R Puram.

We reached home by 5.30pm after having a pleasant trip.

FESTIVAL : MALLESHWARA KADALEKAI PAREISHE 2018

"Parishe" is Utsava, Jaatre or Festival.

KadaleKai is groundnuts. So it Groundnuts Festival.

Groundnuts yield by the farmers from different villages are brought to the town, small part of it is offered to Kadu Malleshwara Deity and spread them on the streets for people to buy.

Different types of Groundnuts are brought to the venue for a week and people throng to the festival to see and buy. An atmosphere of festival is created and vendors of other commodities like fancy items are brought to the venue for sale.

Nalini's sister Vijalakshmi came from Udupi that morning and enjoyed the "KadaleKai Parishe"

TULASI POOJA 2018

Tulasi Habba is observed as Utthana Dwadashi or Karthik Poornimi. On this day, it is believed that Lord Vishnu awakens from his four months cosmic sleep.

Tulasi pooja marks the marriage of Lord Vishnu with Goddess Tulasi.

During Ksheera Sagara Manthan, Tulasi plant was evoled from ocean of milk and married to Lord Vishnu.

Tulasi is also considered as incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi and therefore is unison of Gods and Goddesses.

At BirthiMane, mom got flowers, nellikai  and plant, decorated the tulasi katte with rangoli and deepa.(lamp) and mangalarathi.

MOVIE NEWS - MUNDINA NILDANA - KANNADA - FIRST CLAP

It was the first clap and press meet of the new Kannada movie, "Mundina Nildana", directed by Vinay Bharadhwaj and produced by Dr Suresh Govind, (and others) who woks in England and family lives in Mangalore. He is also one of the sons of Late Govinda Kedilaya, who was my mother's
brother.

The event was to introduce the movie team, hero, heroines, technical team and the concept behind the movie. The director says, it is about current generation of youngsters, their ideas, ambitions and perspectives of future. It appears to be movie with songs, love, breakup and moving on.

The title "Mundina Nildana" means Next Station is Kannada.

There was also talk by No.1 heroine, Radhika Chetan, No.2 Ananya Kashyap, and the hero Praveen Tej.

The main producer, Dr Suresh Govind also spoke why he is interested in moving from operation theatre to movie theatre in India. He says it is to his love for Kannada and to encourage the young talents.
