Sorry I have sad news to you,
Our Umakanth is no more. He was working at Saudi, Two days back he felt some kind symptoms of covid 19. He was admitted in the hospital, night breathing problems, and this morning he has passed away.May his soul rest in peace.
Take care God bless !!!!
Shocking.....UMAKANTH, 63 yrs, one of the very good friend, well wisher during our years at Nigeria (1975 - 1986), was a very helpful person. He was working as Engineer with Best & Crompton Company, who were putting up high voltage transmission lines across Nigeria in those days. He used to travel a lot on his work, purchases to Yola, Gombe, Bauchi, Kano etc. He was stationed in Yola when we shifted from that place in 1986 to Dubai. He was a kind of a person, ready for any kind of help and will go to any extent. One ISKCON devotee, Nigerian, was staying with him that time, and I had my Life Membership for ISKCON.
(International Society for Krishna Consciousness), through which we stayed in Mumbai ISKCON Guest House few times, in those days.

He completed his assignment at Nigeria and has been working in Saudi Arabia for some years. So sad that fate decided, he will take his last breath, in Saudi, due to pandemic disease COVID19. As per the news, he passed away on 21st June, and after 10 days he was confirmed and Saudi Authorities finished his last rituals.

Later, he visited Bengaluru along with A S Sitarama Moorthy, and we had get-together at Dr Vijayakumar's house at J P Nagar, Bengaluru. Families of Prasad, Dr Bhagawan, Dr Vijayakumars and us. It was nice time spent remembering life at Gombe, Bauchi, Yola, Potiskum and Maiduguri, towns in Northern Nigeria.

He very enthusiastic, energetic and smart guy and unable to digest the fact that he is no more.
