That was the celebration of Thread Ceremony or "UPANAYANA" or Brahmopadesha for a boy attained about 10 years.
This happened to Vishruth, a distant relative in the presence of many relatives and well wishers with proper procedure by the purohiths..

Grand lunch (Feast) as usual in the celebrations, with holige, halwa with other usual items and also take away box with sweets.
