Vidushi Smt. Shubha Mudgal

It was a perfect Sunday morning 6.30am, music lovers started arriving at ChitraKala Parishat, Bengaluru, along KumaraKrupa Road. The ambiance, weather and the mood was perfect for morning raaga for HindustaniMusic. A small stage was set under the tree in the open air.
It is early morning vocal recital by Vidushi Smt. Shubha Mudgal, famous hindustani vocalist accompanied by Dr. Anish Pradhan on Tabla and Pandit Sudhir Nayak on Harmonium.
We reached early and the concert started at 7.15am in the cool and pleasant Bengaluru weather, with the introduction of the artists by the compere.

Audience mesmerized

The artist started with raag "Basanth Buhari" and rendered effortlessly for an hour with so much variations, ably assisted by Tabla and Harmonium.

beautiful rendition of kruthi and everyone enjoyed the singing.
The concert concluded with felicitations of the artists and breakfast (Uppittu, KesariBath) was served to all present.
The program was organized by "RajyaGuru Smrithi" and sponsored by Prasiddhi Silks.

ORION SOULFUL RHYTHMS

It was saturday evening at OrionMall, Bengaluru and open air stage was set for music program titled "SoulFul Rhythms".

It was one hour program each from Dr Suma Sudhindra on RudraVenna accompanied by Sitar, Mridanga, Tabla and Pakhwaj, Pandit Prabhakar Karekar with BhakthiRasa, vocalist on devotional music and Pandit VishwaMohan Bhatt on MohanVeena.

The mood, ambiance and the weather was excellent and there vacant chairs to sit comfortably to enjoy the music.

Vaishava Janatho Thene Kahiye...... Raghupathi Raghava Rajaram..... tunes were played nicely by Dr Suma SumaSudhindra and Pandit VishwaMohan Bhat.....
It was an evening well spent.

MYSORE MALLIGE - KANNADA DRAMA

It's the birth anniversary of celebrated Kannada poet Dr K S NarasimhaSwamy (26Jan 1915 - 27Dec 2003). Sugama Sangeetha program and Kannada Drama organized by K S N Prathistana, Bengaluru. at H N KalaKshetra, Jayanagar, Bengaluru.

Dr K S NarasimhaSwamy was a prominent Kannada poet. His popular collection of "MysuruMallige" has seen more than 32 reprints and considered an ideal gift for newly married couple.
His romantic live poems are very popular and T S Nagabharana, Film Director, made a film based on MysuruMallige poems.

He has been awarded with several awards among them PampaAward, Sahitya Academy Award etc.
To pay tribute to late KSN, GeethaNamana, collections of songs rendered by Ms AnjaliHaliyal, upcoming singer and the popular Kannada Drama "MysuruMallige" by theater group KalaGangotri, NammaBengaluru, directed by B V Rajaram.

The 90-minutes play is full of songs, romantic, dances and beautiful narration by BaleGara Chennayya, who takes back the audience to olden days of KSN and the sensitivities of the bygone days. Also message to respect and carry forward the feelings of older generations and planting of trees.
All the artists have performed very well and rendering of songs were excellent.

KSHATRA PARAMPARE - BOOK RELEASE

It was the occasion of book release of "Bharatiya KshatraParampare", by Shatavadhani R Ganesh, published by Rashtrothana Sahitya Bhandara, at NMKRV College, JayaNagara, NammaBengaluru.
We reached there by 10.15am and all the dignitaries reached before 10.30am, when the program was schedule to start.

Dr R Ganesh was already there, and celebrated author Dr S L Byrappa arrived few minutes before 10.30am
After the invocation and prayer to Netaji SubhasChandra Bose, whose birth anniversary, was remembered. Dr S L RamaSwamy, from Rashtrothana Sahitya Bhandara welcomed the distinguished persons on the stage, with the history of Kshatriyas for early vedic times.

Mr Vasuki, spoke in length about the book and the effort and time spent by Dr R Ganesh, writing such an authentic book and commended the effort and knowledge.

Mr Ashok Kumar, retired Police Commissioner from Kodagu, spoke about his experiences about the police service and the military adventures of Coorg people like Gen Kariappa and Gen. Thimmaih.
Dr S L Byrappa spoke and commended work of Dr R Ganesh.
It was a good gathering of interested people and the program concluded by 1.30pm

UDUPI PARYAYA MAHOTSAVA

January 17-18, 2016

Paryaya Mahotsava in Udupi is bi-annual event, where ShriKrishna Mutt pooja and administration changes hands from one Mathadisha to another. Udupi AshtaMutts called 1)Phalimaru, 2)Adamaaru, 3)Krishnapura, 4)Puttige, 5)Shiroor, 6)Sodhe, 7)Kaaniyuru, 8)Pejavara.

The puja and administration of Krishna Matha is distributed among the Swamijis (seer or monk or pontiff) of Ashta Matha's established by Dvaita philosopher Sri Madhvacharya. Each swamiji of every matha gets chance to perform puja to Udupi ShriKrisha by rotation for a period of two years.

During paryaya, the puja and administration of Krishna Matha is handed over from Swamiji of one of Ashta Matha to the Swamiji of another Ashta Matha. It takes place every two years in even numbered years. On 18th January 2016, Shri VishweshaThirtha Swamiji of Pejavara Mutt took over the pooja and administration of ShriKrishna Mutt for the FIFTH time which is record of history, only second such Swamiji had the oppurtunity.

The euphoria and celebrations were unprecedented where people from all over India and abroad, came in lakhs and the preparation and arrangement was flawless and there were'n't any untoward incidence.
