It was early morning 3.40am AIR ARABIA flight to Sharjah from Bengaluru. We were at airport at 1am, finished the check in, security formalities. Waited in the departure lounge, waiting. The announcement came ..... the Air Arabia flight to Sharjah was30 minutes delayed. We waited.
Finally boarding call came..... Inside the aircraft, found our assigned seats, right at the back..... and the flight took off at about 4.20am.
Just after 15 minutes of take off,,,,,an announcement came from the pilot..... "The aircraft is hit by a bird while taking off, the extent of damage is not known, we are returning to Bengaluru.... Do not panic...."
The aircraft landed safely ..... "There is major damage to the aircraft, hole in the front portion, need to replace the parts which has to come from Sharjah.... the flight may not take off till evening 6 pm.... carry your personal luggage and go to airport building: came another announcement.
So everyone..... about 200 passengers back to airport building, cancelled the visa exit, collected the checked in luggage, The Air Arabia staff offered hotel accomodation.... Our plan was to attend the DASHAMANOTSAVA celebrations from 10am on the same day at Dubai, we have determined to go to Dubai in the alternate flight. On checking the EMIRATES schedule, there was one leaving at 10.30am, reaching Dubai at 1pm. We were hopeful that we could go in that flight. Mr Manohar Rao at Dubai, managed to book and cofirm the seats and sent the tickets through WHATSUP, which I received while we were waiting in the airport.
We checked in again, finished the immigration and security formalities and in Emirates flight to Dubai and reached at 1.00pm
That was a great experience and our luck was good.
