It was in the year 2003 when we felt the need for community organization for UAE resident Brahmins, discussed with a few like minded people and planned for a get-together at national Park, Sharjah on 2nd December. There were more than 80 people who vouched for formation of Brahmana Samaja, hence a community organization was born.
The prominent among those present were Sudhaker Rao Pejavar, KrishnaRaj Tantry, Manohar Rao, Ramachandra Udupa, Sufhakar Kandiga, Ananthkumar Tantry, Shivaram Bhat and Udaykumar.
So .... suggestions came for planning number of activities, like Yugadi Festival, Navratri Celebration, and Annual Picnic.
The first Satyanarayana Pooja for ushering new samvatsara (Yugaadi) was performed in April 2004, at Al Shafar Transport Company Camp at Al Quoz, Dubai. Itwas a grand function with more than 200 participants, special lunch on banana leaf.
Since that time activities were taking place every year. Though we left in 2010, Samaja activities were continued with more vigour and enthusiasm.
DASHAMANOTSAVA program was planned on Friday 28th November 2014 to celebrate 10 years of Samaja activities and we were special invitees.
It was a grand cultural UTSAV, showcasing the talents of the members, children. There were dances, orchestra, dance drama, Yakshagaana and stage program, felicitations. It was a program started at 11am went on till 9pm with grand lunch.
Though we arrived late, we could join the celebrations at 2,30pm and were felicitated.
We could meet lot of friends, social gathering and exchange of good wishes.
The program was very much appreciated by one and all and it was a great effort by the team with Sudhaker Rao Pejavar's initiative and leadership.
