Monday, 24th December 2018
Kudlu, between Hebri and Someshwar, Udupi District

The next day of music program at Birthi,Salekeri, relations and friends decided to go to Koodlu Falls, near Someshwara, a distance of about 50 km . About 20 people in 4 cars, set out after breakfast at 10.30 am to Kudlu on Brahmavara-Hebri road.

(Me, Mom, Rishikanth, Abhilasha, Shama, Aneesha, Shyla, Anagha, Aditi, Shobha, Vibha,Vijetha and his four friends, Suresha, Usha, Spoorthy, Varsha, Manohar and Karthik were the gang)

Kudlu Theertha Falls, a picturesque waterfalls, located amid the jungles of  Western Ghats in Udupi District, is recognized as the first waterfalls of Sita River. The water falls from a height of 126 ft, directly on to the pond. It is believed that this pond is holy because many sages performed penance many many years ago.

At the entrance of falls, a fee of Rs.50 is collected for a person and car parking fee of Rs. 50 is collected.  The timing for visiting the falls is from 9 am to 3 pm.

One has to walk a distance of about 4 km to reach the waterfalls and to the pond. It's not just walking bu climbing up the steps, getting down and again going up and down the rocks, sometimes very steep. It takes not less than half an hour for a normal person, without any health issues.

Getting into the water is a pleasant experience. Reaching the bottom of the waterfalls is tough as one has to wade through rocky pond bed and one can easily lose balance. Water is not deep.

Water falling from a height of 126 ft, sprinkles with wind is an experience to cherish.

After spending about two hours, ate some KADUBU, brought from home and started trekking back to starting point. We left from there at 4 pm, had some tiffin at SEETHANADI RESTAURANT and reached back home.

It was tiring and fantastic visit.
