TULASI POOJA 2019

It was time for another year for Tulasi Pooja, about fifteen days after Deepavali Festival.


TULASI VIVAH is one of the most auspicious days in Hindu Calendar.




The celebration commemorates marriage of Lord Vishnu to Tulsi plant, which is also said to be incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi.It is celebrated on Dwadashi day, ShuklaPaksha of Karthika month.



The story is that a Demon King Jalander was famous for his evil acts because of his wife Brinda's virtuous character. Brinda was also devotee of Lord Vishnu and prayed constantly for the well being of her husband. To stop Jalandar's evil acts, Vishnu took the form of celibacy. Soon fight broke out and Jalandar was killed in the fight. Brinda kills herself in Jalandar's pyre and Lord Vishnu turned Brinda's soul into Tulsi Plant married her.


There was decoration of Tulasi plant planted along with NelliKai plant, deepa lighted, fruits offered and arthi was performed.
