YAKSHAGANA - SRI SHNAISHWARA MAHATME

Yakshagana is Dance Ballet popular coastal Karnataka, performed throughout the night in the paddy field in those days.






The performing arts with heavy costume, songs, dance, acting and dialogues. The story taken from Mahabharatha or Ramayana, elaborated to please the audience with jokes, clown character (Hasyagara), and with a message to people to believe in the story.




The story presented (Prasanga) was Sri Shanaishwara Mahatme, What God Shani can do to people, putting them in all kinds of troubles, who do not believe in the power of ShaniGod.



Vikramaditya, a popular King, who was proud and didn't bow his head to ShaniGod had suffer, was called a thief and finally had to surrender.


Lot of songs by Bhagavataru, dance by the artists, long dialogues, funny characters like Betaala, Brahmana and a muslim.

ACHIEVERS
Dance performance by veterans were good, but sometimes dialogues were too dragging.

There was also felicitation program by the organizers to the achievers.


As we had to rush home, we couldn't stay on till the end.
