An excellent, short Yakshagaana was seen at TaralaBalu Centre, R T Nagara, NammaBengaluru.
The story is from Ramayana, where Ravana, Ruler of Lanka, kidnaps SriRamachandra's wife Seetha and keeps her in AshokaVana. Ravana wants to have physical relationship with Seetha and she refuses to budge an inch.
Hanumantha, a monkey, and a hardcore devotee of SriRama, flies over the sea to reach Lanka and wants to take her back to SriRama. He encounters number of people from Ravana's army like Akshay Kumar, IndraJithu and finally Ravana. Hanumantha chides Ravana, who gets angry and orders Hanumatha's tail set on fire. With the burning tail, with his super power, he sets Lanka on fire, which is known as "Lanka Dahana"
The actors have performed very well, singing by Bhagavatharu, mridanga and chande, very reminds of childhood days. The dancing, dialogues and expressions were all good.
