CoffeeBoard Park
It was the program for renewing confidence in the work of Shri Renuka Hegde, President of Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Byatrayanapura Unit. He was nominated for the second term of three years by the newly elected President of Bengaluru District Sahitya Parishat, Sri Mayanna.
The program was arranged on the street at the entrance of D V G Square, near CoffeeBoard Layout Park, with Shamiana and lots of chairs. Local MLA and Minister, KrishnaByreGowda, who comes two and half hours late, delivers his "Bhashana" for five minutes and leaves. I wonder, how people's representatives have so little time for general public.
The program supposed to start at 6pm, started only at 8 pm, and in the mean time a group with accompanying music singing kannada folk songs which was pleasing to hear.
"BEPPU THAKKADI BOLE SHANKAR" - (Stupid Innocent Shankar) Kannada drama enacted by a Nayana group on the stage with recorded dialogues and music, the actors only move their lips as per dialogues coming from the CD. The play was written by ChandraShekara Kambara.
However, it was an entertainment program with some message and not much humour, though it was supposed to be "HasyaNataka". As the one hour drama started late due to lot of speeches, finished at 10.30 pm, very few people were there in the audience.
