The people of Karnataka consider Yugadi to be an auspicious time for commencing new ventures.
The term Yugadi means starting of new YUGA or period. The festival is celebrated in April.
The popular legend associated with featival is that Lord Brahma started creation of Universe on this auspicious day of Chaitra Shuddha Padhyami. Now it is beginning of DURMUKHI nama samvatsara.

Thursday, 14th April 2016, the day of SauraMaana Yugadi, morning pooja, special feast was prepared by mom with holige, payasa, kadabu, huli, palya ,chutni etc etc....
Ravi Vidya came and had yugadi lunch and it was a family get-together.
