ANOTHER TRIP TO OORU

Trip to Ooru, Salekeri, Udupi, Mangaluru
Fri, Sat, Sun 31/5 - 2/6/2019

The trip was to attend wedding of Raksha, d/o Hiriadaka Udaya Achar at Sharada Kalyana Mantapa, Udupi and "Beegara Outhana" at Mangaluru. We also utilized the time to visit friends and well wishers.

Left Bengaluru by train from Yeshwanthpur on Thursday night 7.30 pm after taking a Wuber taxi from home. Reached Mangaluru central railway station next morning at 6.00am. Got into express bus going to Udupi and got down at Udyavara, went to Sujatha's house, had breakfast and took the car.



As the car battery was down, couldn't start the car, got a mechanic for jump start, went to a battery shop, purchased a new battery and then proceeded to Birthi,Salekeri. Finished the pooja rituals and proceeded to Udupi for the wedding, had grand lunch and returned to Birthi.


In the evening, again went to Udupi and visited RamachandraRajani Udupa at Srinidhi Apartments, and from there to VishalaKeshav Bhat's house at Manipal. After chatting for some time returned to Birthi, Salekeri.

Next morning (Sat, 1st June) after finishing bath, pooja and breakfast, proceeded to Udyavara, left the car and took a volvo bus to Mangaluru to attend Beegara Outhana.



Close friend Subramanya Kordale came to pick us and went to his house at Vamanjooru, a distance of 20Km from Mangaluru.  After a short nap, went visiting temples and visited PrathimaJagadish Shetty at their residence.

Temples visited: 1. Sri Mangala devi Temple, Bolara, Mangaluru.



2. Kadri Sri Manjunatha Temple.

Returned to Vamanjooru and spent the night at Subramanya's house.

Next morning (Sunday, 2nd June) left 6 am to visit temples.

1. Polali RajaRajeshwari Temple and had had the darshana. The place was nearby about 6 km.




2. Karinjeshwara Shiva-Parvathi Temple at Karinje hills, a distance of 40 km. From the bottom of the hill, climbing 300 steps to reach Parvathi Temple and further 300 steps to reach the hill top, for Shiva Temple. As we reached early at 7.30am, waited for temple priest till 9 am, had darshana and prasada of the Lord and then to Parvathi Temple, half way down the hill.




3. Sri Vinayaka ShankaraNarayana Durgamba Temple at Nandavara, famous for "Appam".


4. Sri Sadashiva Temple, Narahari Parvatha (Hills), about 100 steps to climb, but as the car could go up, we drove up the hill to reach the temple.

5. Hotel Lakshmi Nivas - KT Hotel at Kalladka, had lunch, famous for special coffee.



6. Sri Kshetra Amrutheshwara Temple - 3 km from Vamanjooru, went in the evening for darshana, calm, neat and huge Ishwara Temple.


Had some tiffin at  home, came to Central Railway station by auto to catch train to Bangaluru at 8.55 pm and reached Yeshvanthpur  next morning at 7 am., took Wuber Taxi and came back to BirthiMane Bengaluru.
