Near ChikkaBallapura, Bengaluru.
Rangasthala, near Chikkaballapura, is about 60 km from Bengaluru, where an old temple with deity 'BHOODEVI, SRIDEVI WITH RANGANATHA
It's believed to be established by Saptharishi at Skandagiri hills during olden days.
Sriman Narayana in the form of Sri Ranganatha gives darshan in the reclining pose, with Bhoodevi and Sridevi.
We reached the place around 10.30 am when the pooja and Abhishekha was in progress and the site of Deity and the chanting of Mantras by purohiths were mesmerizing.
The temple is big with architecture in number of pillars, worth visiting and spending some time.
Unfortunately, this temple is neglected with no basic amenities and infrastructure. One has to drive through narrow roads of village. There is huge potential for tourists and devotees, if facilities are improved.
Skandagiri Hills |
Monkeys have field day in and around the temple and they scare people visiting the place and try to snatch eatables from people. One has to careful with their belongings while visiting the place.
As we went with Nalini's sisters Vijayalakshmi and Sujatha, who came from Udupi, we spent an hour in the temple.
