ThiruavaNanthaPuram / KanyaKumari Visit
Day 1 : Monday 14th May 2018
Left home at 7 am to KempeGowda International Airport by VayuVajra, Volvo Bus to catch IndiGo Air flight to Trivandrum (ThiruvananthaPuram) at 9 am.
After check in and security, flight left one hour late due to passengers other flight was to arrive.
Reached at 11am (one hour), to Termina1 (Domestic), took Wuber Taxi to Sangeetha Tourist Home in the town. Took lunch at Ariya Nivas, and slept for a while.
Evening Sathy Sreejith (Formerly Secretary at OurOwn, Dubai) came to take us around.
Went to Atukal Bhagavathy Temple, Ganapathi Temple, visited Mrs Santha Thomas (Formerly Biology Teacher at OurOwn), had dinner in a hotel with Sathy and we were dropped back in the hotel.
Day 2: Tuesday, 15th May 2018
Morning 4 am went to Sri AnanthaPadmanabha Swamy Temple, Had darshana, then Sreekanteshwara Temple nearby by auto for darshana, had breakfast in a nearby Udupi Hotel.
Walked around to look for Puthina Maliga Palace and museum, visited the place came to the hotel, packed the bag, left for Railway Station to catch train at 11.50 to NagarKoil.
Reached the station at 1 pm, took a bus to NagarKoil bus stand, had lunch at AryaBhavan, again took a bus to KanyaKumari, to reach at 3 pm, Checked in at Hotel SunRock.
4.30pm, engaged a taxi to go to Suchindrum Temple,(15 km) had darshana, returned to Sunset point at KanyaKumari.
Visited Bhagavathi Temple, dinner at Sharavana Bhavana, returned at Hotel at 9 pm and slept.
Day 3: Wednesday, 16th May 2018
5.30 am went to watch sunrise, though it cloudy, walked around. Breakfast at Annapoorna Hotel, waited for trip to Vivekananda Rock Memorial (Rs 170 for special entrance), by boat ride for 10 minutes, spent around half an hour and returned to hotel, checked out to take a bus to NagaraKoil, (19 km) at 11 am, from there took a bus to Thokalay (12 km), then to another bus to PadmanabhaPuram )3 km) to see the palace.
Had lunch (not so good) waited for lunch break to be over (12.30pm to 2 pm), went round the PadmanabhaPuram Palace and Museum.
Returned to Thokalay by 4 pm, and another bus to ThiruvanthaPuram, to reach the same hotel at
6 pm. Went to nearby hotel for food, came back to the hotel and slept.
Day 4 : Thursday, 17th May 2018
Morning after breakfast at Ariya Nivas, engaged an autoriksha to go around the visiting places.
9 am to ThirunanthaPuram Zoo,
11 am to Sri AnanthaPadmanabhaSwamy temple darshana and lunch (Prasada) at the temple.
1 pm back to the hotel and dress change and leave for Poovar Island (27 km)
2.30pm One hour boat ride , to the beach, back to 3.30 pm
5 pm - Vilinzham harbour, kovalam beach and to light house , went up for aerial view.
5.30 pm - visit to Parashuram Kshetra at Tiruvalla, and returned to hotel at 6 pm
7.30 pm- Sathy and took us to Anu Mathew (Formerly Physics teacher at OurOwn), dropped us to a hotel for dinner and we returned to hotel by 9.30 pm and slept.
Day 5 : Friday 18th May 2018
Checked out from the hotel at 6.30 am, raining, booked a wuber taxi and went to Termainal 1, only to find out that AirIndia flight to Bengaluru leaves from Terminal 2 (International). Took a auto riksha to reach Terminal 2 (6 km). The driver demanding Rs 175 instead of just Rs. 50 . Contacted the police, the riksha driver came and begged for Rs.50 and was given.
Checked in Bengaluru AirIndia flight at 9.15 am. Had breakfast at the airport (Idli, vada & kolakate)
Flight left on time, to reach Bengaluru at 10.10 am (Just one hour).
Came out and took Volvo bus to Esteem Mall, (20 minutes ride), engaged an auto and came home by 11 am, thus ending the fantastic, fantastic 4- day trip.
