YakshaGaana is dance drama with heavy costumes, dance, dialogue with Bhagavataru singing with accompanying music with mridanga and chande.
The presentation (Prasanga) is story from Mahabharatha where Pandavas with draupadi are sent away from the capitol to live forests and living without anybody identifying them.
Pandavas lands in Vijayapura, Draupadi (as Sairendri) working at the Queens(Sudheshne)) palace as helper. Bheema (Valala) working as cook in the kitchen.
Sudheshne's brother Keechaka, a womeniser, falls in love with Sairendri and wants to have her, in spite of Sudheshne's advice not to.
However, Keechaka being adamant tries to get her. Sairendri, gets Bheema to help her,and Bheema in disguise as woman, kills Keechaka.
The dance performances of all the artists were excellent and singing by Bhagavatharu was also very good. It was a 3-hour show.
