It was 16 years ago, on August 19, 2004, Daughter Shubha got married to Raghu at Lakshmi Sabha Bhavana, National Highway, Udupi.
We were on school holidays. working in Dubai, came in end of June to Bengaluru. She got engaged to Raghu on 9th July 2004 at Guru Narasimha Kalyana Mantapa. There were about 250 relatives and friends for engagement. Post lunch, traditionally Shubha was engaged with Ganesh Pooja, exchange of rings. Afterwards, the invitation cards were printed, invited friends and relations at different places taking a tour to Bhadravathi, Shimoga, Sagara (Hongirana), Basavani, Hebri and Birthi Salekeri.
Traditional Brahmin wedding took place in the morning of Thursday, 19th Aug.2004. More than 600 relatives and friends attended the wedding and enjoyed grand lunch (Wedding feast)
In the afternoon, there was Sugama Sangeetha Music program by Shimoga VenuGopal and team, which lasted for about 3 hours.
Later in the evening, there was Yakshagana by "SAKETHA KALAVIDARU" of Purappe mane, Sagara, with K G Rama Rao (Bhagavatharu) and K G Manjunath in the lead role and K G Shashank.
After dinner, guests (Grooms party) were accommodated at Sharada Hotel.
Next day, Friday, 20th August, we had Satynarayana Pooja and Aarathakshate at Birthi House, Salekeri, with about 50 people attending, followed by lunch.
Later in the evening, wedding party along with daughter Shubha left for Bangalore.
There was also RECEPTION at Hotel Kanishka, Gandhinagar, Bengaluru on Sunday, 22nd Aug.2004
With sweet memories of wedding, we went Shubha Raghu's house to spend some time, Mom prepared a nice cake. It was cut with daughter Lahari decorating the cake.
Returned home by 9 pm.
