Mandaragiri Hills, Tumakuru.
That was the first outing in the new year 2021 for visiting places.
We were five Rishi, Kavitha, Mom, Me and the pet Seena.
We wanted to have a half day trip, started from home early, 7 am. The place is about 55 km from Bengaluru, from Tumakuru Highway, a diversion and distance of 5 km to the place.
Right from the spot where you park the car, the view of Hills is amazing, a narrow strip of path winding up on the rock hills.
It's about 500 steps, to climb, little steep. There is hand railings throughout, which is needed for elderly and seniors. One can go up without the steps, daring and energetic.
On the top of the hills, Jain Basadi with Thirkankara idol, and the whole place is under renovation. There are lot tourists coming to visit the place.
Behind the Basadi, there is large lake, and a beautiful view of the area. One can walk on the rocks, enjoy the breeze, spend some time sitting on the rock and enjoy the environment.
After spending about two hours, it is time to climb down the steps, which is much easier.
There is statue of Digambara Chandranatha Thirthankara and a Dhyana Mandira at the bottom of the hills.
On the way back, we stopped over at NAMASTHE BENGALURU for lunch and it was good and drove back home by 2 pm, for rest and relax.
