Rangasthala, Chikkaballapura.
We along with Suresh Usha Cukkemane, left from the house at 10 am to visit Rangasthala at Chikkaballapura, and reached there by 12 noon, when the temple was
about to close for the morning.
However, the security was kind enough to let us in and we could have darshan of Sri Ranganatha Swamy in SheshaShayana psition with Sridevi & Bhoodevi.
According to the local legend, the seven sages were living in a nearby cave in Skanda-giri Hill. In remembrance of the pastime of Lord Rama gifting the Deity to Vibhishana, the seven sages installed the Deity of Lord Ranganatha in Rangasthala and began the worship.
This is one of the oldest temples in Bangalore. Rangasthala is a wonderful example of art, the architecture will take you to the time gone by and the ruins of the place include the beauty of the place. A lot of the old architectures are overlapped with the new construction. But, the temple still wonderfully protects Sri Ranganatha Swamy of Ranganatha. The place is great for day trips.
