KAMALASHILE AND SOUKOORU TEMPLES -VISIT

Sri Brahmi Durgaparameshwari Temple Kamalashile.

We started of from Birthi 8.30am, Sujatha and Smitha joined us in Brahmavara.

Visited Anegudde MahaGanapathi Temple and had Darshan of Lord Ganapathi.

KamalaShile is about 55 Km from Brahmavara, driving through the green terrain, reached the place by 11.30am.

As it was Navaratri Sambrama, large number of people were there for Darshan and Prasada.

After Darshan of Deity DurgaParameshwari, we waited in BhojanaShale for prasada oota, on Banana leaf.

Special prasada oota was there, after which we proceeded to Guhalaya, about 4 Km from the Temple.

As it is in a cave, one has to walk down, I did not go in, but MOM went inside, walking in the dark cave for about 400m and then returned.

Visted Nagabhooshan Bhat and wife Leela at their house in Kamalashile.

After the visit, we proceeded to Soukooru, a distance of 20 km on the way and had Darshan of Sri Durgaparameshwari at the temple SOUKURU

ಸೌಕೂರು ಶ್ರೀ ದುರ್ಗಾಪರಮೇಶ್ವರಿ ಅಮ್ಮನವರು
ಶ್ರೀಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ಸೌಕೂರು ಕುಬ್ಜ ಮತ್ತು ವಾರಾಹಿ ನದಿಗಳ ಸಂಗಮ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದೆ. ಕುಂದಾಪುರದಿಂದ ಪೂರ್ವಕ್ಕೆ ಸುಮಾರು 12 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿದೆ.
ಸೌಖ್ಯ ಮುನಿಗಳು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಲಿಂಗ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆ ಮಾಡಿ ದೇವಿಯನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸಿದ್ದರು ಎನ್ನಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಈ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ಸೌಖ್ಯಪುರವೆಂದು ಹೆಸರಾಗಿ ಮುಂದೆ ಸೌಕೂರು ಆಗಿ ಪರಿವರ್ತನೆಗೊಂಡಿತು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
ಸೌಕೂರು ಶ್ರೀ ದುರ್ಗಾಪರಮೇಶ್ವರಿ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನ ಭಕ್ತರ ಆರಾಧ್ಯ ಶಕ್ತಿಕೇಂದ್ರ. ದುರ್ಗೆ, ಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ, ಮಹಾಸರಸ್ವತಿಯರು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಸಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಸಾವಿರಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಇತಿಹಾಸ ಹೊಂದಿದ ಸ್ಥಳ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರತೀತಿ. ಈ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ಹೂವಿನ ಪ್ರಸಾದ(ಪುಷ್ಪಪವಾಡ)ಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆಸರುವಾಸಿ. ಹೂಗಳನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀದೇವಿಯ ಮುಡಿಗೇರಿಸಿ, ಪೂಜೆ ಮಾಡಿ, ಮನದ ಸಂಕಲ್ಪವನ್ನು ಈಡೇರಿಸುವಂತೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರೆ, ಹೂವಿನ ಪ್ರಸಾದ ನೀಡುವ ಮೂಲಕ ತನ್ನ ಸಮ್ಮತಿಯನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀದೇವಿ ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತಾಳೆ ಎನ್ನಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಶುಭ ಸಮಾರಂಭಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವ ಮೊದಲು, ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಮದುವೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಸಾದ ನೋಡುವುದು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ.
ಹಿಂದೆ ದುರ್ಗಾಸುರನೆಂಬ ರಾಕ್ಷಸ ಲೋಕಕಂಟಕನಾಗಿ ಮೆರೆಯುವಾಗ ಅವನ ಸಂಹಾರ ಮಾಡಲು ಆದಿಮಾಯೆಯೇ ಅವತರಿಸುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ದುಷ್ಟ ದುರ್ಗಾಸುರನನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಿ ಶ್ರೀದುರ್ಗಾಪರಮೇಶ್ವರಿಯಾಗಿ ಸೌಕೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಾಳೆ ಎಂಬುದು ಪುರಾಣದ ಕಥೆ.
ಸೌಕೂರು ಶ್ರೀ ದುರ್ಗಾಪರಮೇಶ್ವರಿ ಅಮ್ಮನವರು ಕಮಲಶಿಲೆಯ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮೀದುರ್ಗೆಯ ಅಕ್ಕನೆಂದೂ, ಕೊಲ್ಲೂರು ಮೂಕಾಂಬಿಕೆಯ ತಂಗಿಯೆಂದೂ ಜನರು ನಂಬುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಶ್ರೀದೇವಿಯ ಪ್ರೀತ್ಯರ್ಥ ಸೇವೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳಕಿನ ಸೇವೆಯೂ (ಯಕ್ಷಗಾನ) ಒಂದು. ಸೌಕೂರು ಮೇಳ ನೂರಾರು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ.
ಅಮ್ಮ ಸೌಕೂರು ಶ್ರೀದುರ್ಗಾಪರಮೇಶ್ವರಿ ಸಕಲ ಭಕ್ತರಿಗೂ ಸೌಖ್ಯ, ಆಯುರಾರೋಗ್ಯ ಭಾಗ್ಯ ನೀಡಿ ಕಾಪಾಡುತ್ತಾಳೆ.

It is a huge temple complex, as old as thousand years, and renovated , clean and neat premises.

We also have a relation resident there, Sri Mahabala Adiga, SIL of Ajekar Late Subramanya Adiga. His three children, Rajesh, Ramesh and Rohith, all married with children were there for Navaratri Festival.
