80TH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION AT HONGIRANA SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE
The 80th Independence Day was celebrated at Hongirana School of Excellence with immense enthusiasm, pride, and patriotic spirit.
The celebrations commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony, led by our respected Principal, Mrs. Shobha K., in the presence of all Section Heads, staff, and students.
The formal programme began at 10:00 a.m. in the gracious presence of our esteemed Chief Guest, Mr. B. Jayarama Somayaji, an eminent educationist, accomplished Physics teacher, and distinguished academic administrator whose remarkable journey in the field of education spans over four decades across India, Africa, and the United Arab Emirates. The event was presided over by Ms. Achala Purushothama, Principal Architect of Arundathi Design Studio, Bengaluru.
The spirit of freedom came alive through a powerful dance-drama presented by our hostel students, portraying the courageous resistance of the people of Esuru and Halagali, two significant chapters from Karnataka’s history of resistance against British rule. The students’ remarkable performance beautifully reflected courage, patriotism, sacrifice, and the indomitable spirit of our freedom fighters. It was truly a proud and memorable presentation.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. B. Jayarama Somayaji emphasised the importance of becoming responsible and conscientious citizens, reminding everyone that the freedom we enjoy comes with the responsibility to contribute positively to the nation.
In her Presidential Address, Ms. Achala Purushothama urged the gathering to make meaningful use of the freedom we have inherited and to channel it towards the progress, development, and well-being of our country.
Adding another moment of pride to the celebration, our Principal, Mrs. Shobha K., distributed the Rajyapuraskar Examination Certificates to the Scouts and Guides who had successfully appeared for the examination last year, recognising their dedication, discipline, and commitment.
The celebration was not merely a remembrance of our glorious past, but also a reminder of our collective responsibility towards India’s future.
With patriotism in our hearts, gratitude for the sacrifices of our freedom fighters, and a renewed commitment to nation-building, the day at Hongirana was truly blessed, inspiring, and memorable.
Let us cherish our freedom, uphold our responsibilities, and work together towards a stronger, united, and progressive India.
