Saturday, 21st September 2019
K H Kalasoudha, Bengaluru.

The presentation of Play "KATHEGALU" was on the third day of Ranga Bhadrapada Festival of drama enthusiasts organization 'ANTHARANGA"

A senior RangaBhoomi artist Sreenivasa Mestru was the chief guest, an elderly gentleman, who has done large number of stage dramas for number of years and even now is a stage artist. Recently we saw his excellent performance at a Play "Mudi Dore mattu avana Makkalu", and he was the Old King.

One important point he spoke about the drama was that the show should be for entertainment. The whole focus of the play should be entertainment with small story and a message to the society.

Uncle Sham, Chief of Antaranga also spoke about his experience, difficulties of artists and funds required to present a drama. Antaranga carries on for last 39 years giving number activities ever year and hope to continue for ever with help of dedicated artists.

"KATHEGALU" was the play presented by "WeMove" organization of Abhishek Iyangar, is the three 30 - minutes drama by amateur artists.

The first one was about a writer, who gets very much disturbed and is unable to his thoughts straight for writing book.
The second one was about the story of "Punyakoti" cow, presented in new angle, where a tiger could understand the feelings of the cow, but people slaughter them for consumption.
The third one was about a photographer, who goes round shooting pictures, but was cheated by people who want media coverage and publicity.

The whole presentation was too slow and a drag and testing the patience of the audience. Some concepts were unique like movement of cows, riding a bike. Smoking on stage could have been avoided and better dialogue could be more appreciable.

It was a wait for an hour and half finishing the play and to get relief.
