HATTIANGADI / GUDDATTU VINAYAKA TEMPLES

We visited two Vinayaka Temples in ooru, This time one at HATTIAGADI and the other at GUDDETTU

HATTIANGADI




It's about 8 Km from Kundapura is famous for eight century old Sri Siddivinayaka Temple. It is also historical and pilgrimage center.  Hatiiangadi was once the capital of Alupa Kings in 7th and 8th Century.



Sri SiddiVinayaka Temple is situated on the banks of river Varahi. Lord Vinayaka sports in Jata Hair. The idol made of Saligrama stone, grows in size every year, which is visible to the fact it has outgrown the silver casting.

Lord Ganesha is believed to grant the wishes of people, hence called SiddiVinayaka.

It was short visit, darshan, prasad and we left from the place. Shubha,Raghu and Lahari also joined at the place.

GUDDETTU

About 40 km from Hatiangadi, is another Vinayaka temple called Guddettu.




Sri Vinayaka Temple is about 700 years old and is situated near a huge granite rock, which looks like a sleeping elephant.It is believed that black stone Vinayaka has emerged itself and the idol is 3 ft tall.





Special seva at this temple is "AyurKoda", means bathing of idol with one thousand pots of water lifted from the well, which is done by brahmins in wet clothes.

Also special seva like 12 Mudi rice Kadubu, and 120 coconut GanaYaaga and AyurKoda Seva by Bengaluru resident Shrimathi Kondalli Rukmini Adiga and sons.


We had grand lunch as the seva was offered by Vasudeva Adiga, Hotelier from Bengaluru and there were thousands of people on that day.

We left the place after having grand lunch on banana leaf.
