Sringeri
Sringeri Sharadamba Temple in one place that would like to visit again and again.
There is some kind of unseen attraction, emanating source of energy and refreshing feeling.
It was ooru we decided to travel by car with Mom's sister Sujatha and her daughter Dr Smitha also joined in Sringeri.
Sringeri is hill town situated near river Tunga and is first Matha established by Adi Shankaracharya some 1200 years ago. Shree Sharadamba Temple attracts lots of visitors from all over the world.
Sri VidyaShankara Temple was built during 14th Century with the help of VijayaNagara rulers, for the memory of Guru VidyaShankara. It is architectural marvel and has some astronomical concepts.
RISHYASHRANGA TEMPLE, KIGGA
RishyaShrangeshwara Temple at Kigga - It is about 10 km from Sringeri located in RishyaShranga Giri (Hills) and in fact we visited this place on our way. It is believed that sage Rishyasringa
performed penance here.
After having lunch (prasada) at the temple, we left to visit a relation, Ngaraja Somayaji, my doddappa Subbanna Somayaji's son house.
