SRI DHARMARAYA SWAMY TEMPLE, TIGALARAPETE, BENGALURU.
The temple located in the heart of the city, oldest, well known in the city.
Dedicated to PANDAVAS, from Mahabharatha, only temple worship Dhrmaraya, Bhima, Arjuna, Nakula, Sahadeva and their consort Draupadi.
Built by Tigala Community, involved in agriculture and growing flowers, more than 800 years ago.
The temple is built in the Dravidian style of architecture, with an ornamental gopuram at the entrance. Dharmaraya, Krishna, Arjuna, Draupadi, and Bhima are worshipped here.
The Karaga festival is one of the oldest festivals of the state and is celebrated by grand performances by dancers and musicians on the streets outside the temple. It is celebrated to honor Draupadi, the consort of the Pandavas, and signifies the power of women.
Every year Karaga Festival is celebrated in Grand style and we were there for cultural program.
A beautiful Dance Drama "RAMAYANA" was presented by Guru Deepa Bhat and Students of Nrutya Kuteera, highlight being our LAHARI as RAMA.
That was devine, devotional and cultural evening.
Back home by 10 pm.
