BIRTHI HOUSE - SALEKERI

BirthiMane, Salekeri, Brahmavara, Udupi District.

The house where I was born and brought up, at Birthi Salekeri. It is a house where so many functions, marriages, namakaranas, Brahmopadeshas, seemanthas, Satynarayana Poojas took place.

My father Venkatramana Somayaji, who was archak at Salekeri Veerabhadra Durgaparameshwari Temple for more than 50 years.

My mother Kaveri, gave birth to 8 children, 5 girls and 3 boys.

"Mane Devaru" is there, where my grandfather, father had been doing pooja, and now When I go to our house, I do the pooja.

Brother B P Somayaji's wife Leela Somayaji (86 yrs) and her daughter-in-law Abhilasha, Principal at S M S English Medium School at Brahmavara are living now in the house.

Recently, Sadaram brothers, Shivaram, Jayarm and their wives, Sachin (Sadaram's son) and wife Lekha, came to the house for visit.

We were there.

53rd MUSIC CONFERENCE - VIOLIN CONCERT

Bangaluru Gayana Samaja, K R Road, Bengaluru.

It is 53rd Music Coference organized by Bangalore Gayana Samaja from 29th October to 5th November 2023.

The conference consisted of Academic sessions, Talent promotion concerts by young upcoming artists, and celebrity artists.

We, Mom, Ravi and Vidya, Urvi were there in the evening of Sunday 29th Oct. for the violin concert of famous Vidwan Mysuru Nagaraj and Vidwan Dr Mysuru Manjunath.

Vid. Anantha Krishnan and Vid Tumkur Ravishankar accompanied Mrudanga.

The session was of high caliber with Nagaraj at his best and also sang before plying violin.

It was a very soothing and refreshing evening violin reverberating.

Entry Fee was Rs 50 Pax

Success comes from hardwork, proper planning, commitment and perseverence.

This month's Sugama Bhajane was hosted by Ashok at Sharjah.

As usual the session started with Vishnu Sahasranama, Omkara,  Ganesha stuthi, and bhajans followed by all participants.

A VISHWANATHA UDUPA

Mandarthi, Udupi District.

Sri Vishwanatha Udupa known for many years, as his son Ramachandra Udupa was close at Dubai, when we were working.

He got married to Rajani that time and they are having a daughter Ruchira and son Raghavendra.

We were invited for his 80 yrs celebrations (Sahasra chandra Darshana) at Mandarthi, we did not attend.

He regularly performs Pooja at famous Durgaparameshwari Temple at Mandarthi, his house is just behind the temple. 

During Navaratri Festival, we at their house at Mandarthi, atteneded pooja and oota in the night.

May God Bless him with good health, long life and Happiness.

ಮೊದಲ ತಾವು - ಪಟೇಲರ ಗತ ವೈಭವ

ಮೊದಲ ತಾವು, ಹಳವಳ್ಳಿ ಗ್ರಾಮ, ಉಡುಪಿ ತಾಲೂಕ್, ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ.

92 ವರ್ಷದ ರತ್ನಾವತಿ ಹೆಗ್ಡೆ ಯೊಂದಿಗೆ...

ಅದೊಂದು ಗತ ವೈಭವ ವನ್ನು ಸಾರುವ  ಅರಮನೆ ಯಂತಹಾ  ಭವ್ಯ ಬಂಗಲೆ.

ಬ್ರಿಟಿಷರ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಊರಿನ ಪಟೇಲರ ಗತ್ತನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುವ ಮನೆ.

ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾವರ ದಿಂದ  ಹೆಬ್ರಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪೇತ್ರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕರ್ಜದ ನಡುವಿನ ಜಾಗದ ಒಳಗೆ ಸುಮಾರು ಎರಡು ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿದೆ ಒಂದು ಭವ್ಯವಾದ ಬಂಗಲೆ. 

ಸುಮಾರು 400 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾದ ಬಂಗಲೆ.  ಶ್ರೀ ಚಿತ್ತರಂಜನ ಹೆಗ್ಡೆ ಅವರ ತಾಯಿಯ ಅಜ್ಜ ಶ್ರೀ ಜಗನಾಥ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿಯವರು ಕೊನೆಯ ಪಟೀಲರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಬರೇ ಕಾಡಿನ ವಾತಾವರಣ ವಿರುವದರಿಂದ ಪಟೇಲರ ಮನೆಯೇ ಊರಿನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಿಚಾರಗಳು, ಜನನ-ಮರಣ, ಆಸ್ತಿ ನೋಂದಣಿ, ಕಂದಾಯ ವಸೂಲಿ,  ವಿವಾದ ಬಗೆ ಹರಿಸುವಿಕೆ , ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ ಹತ್ತು ಹಲವಾರು ವಿಷಯಗಳ ಚರ್ಚೆ, ಹಾಗೂ  ತೀರ್ಪು ಪಟೇಲರ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇತ್ತು.

ಮನೆಯ ಎದುರು ವಿಶಾಲವಾದ ಪ್ರಾಂಗಣ, ಜಗಲಿ, ಚಾವಡಿ, ಒಳ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶಾಲವಾದ ಹಾಲ್, ಅದರ ಹಿಂದೆ ದೇವರ ಕೊನೆ, ಅಡಿಗೆ ಮನೆ, ಮಹಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಲಗುವ ಕೋಣೆ, ಬ್ರಿಟಿಷ್ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಬಂದಾಗ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಉಳಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ವಿಶಾಲವಾದ ಆವರಣ, ಬೆಡ್ ರೂಮ್ , ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ.

ಈಗ ಈ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿತ್ತರಂಜನ್ ಹೆಗ್ಡೆಯವರ, ವಯೋ ಸಹಜ ಅನಾರೋಗ್ಯದಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತ್ತಿರುವ  92 ವರ್ಷದ ತಾಯಿ ರತ್ನಾವತಿ ಹೆಗ್ಡೆ, ಮಗಳು ಜ್ಯೋತಿ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕೆಲಸದವರು.

ಚಿತ್ತರಂಜನ್ ಹೆಗ್ಡೆ ಮತ್ತು ಮಡದಿ ಶಾಲಿನಿ ಯೊಂದಿಗೆ...

ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ನವರಾತ್ರಿ ಉತ್ಸವ, ಕೋಲ, ಈ ಮನೆಯಿಂದ ಭಂಡಾರ, ಗೆಂಡ  ಸೇವೆ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿಗಳ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ.

ನೂರಾರು ಎಕರೆ ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಈ ಮನೆತನ ಹಾಗು ಮನೆ, ಈಗ ಗತಕಾಲದ ವೈಭವವನ್ನು ತೋರುವ ಬಂಗಲೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.

ಸುಮಾರು ಒಂದು ಗಂಟೆಯ ಕಾಲ ಅಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ವಾಪಸಾದೆವು.
