Navaratri Festival is very special in Ooru, Udupi District.
To visit and participate in the Navaratri festivities, we travlled to Udupi on the night of Friday, 20th October. by Sri Durgamba bus at 9.30 pm from LG Showroom, KodigeHalli gate, and reached Udyavara 6 am next morning.
Day 1: Saturday, 21st Oct.2023
Reached Udyavara at 6 in the morning, engaged a auto and reached Sujatha's House, freshened up, had beautiful Kadubu, chutney, coffee, proceeded to Birthi Salekeri, Native place, where brother's wife, Leela Somayaji and Sose Abhilasha lives.

After bath, pooja at home, proceed to Neelavara Sri Mahishamardini Temple, had darshan, and grand navaratri oota, came back home (Birthi) and slept.
Evening went to Garadimane Durgaparameshwari Temple, present for Mangalarathi and had sumptous Nvaratri Oota. Back home and slept.
Day 2 : Sunday, 22nd October 2023
We went to KunjaruGiri Durga Devi Temple for Darshan and Navaratri Oota,
In the evening , went to Mandarthi for Darshan of Sri Durgaparameshwari temple, present for navaratri Pooja at Vishwanatha Udupa (F/O of Ramachandra Udupa). and special oota, returned to Birthi by 11 pm and slept.
Day 3 : Monday, 23rd Oct.2023
Today's darshan was ShambhuKallu Veerabhadra DurgaParameshwari Temple at Udyavara, after which grand navaratri oota.
Went to Mayagundi, near Putturu for inviting Shama's wedding, Bhaskar Bhat, Kittu Bhat, Jayalaskhmi Krishnamoorthy Bhat, again went to Udupi for Sri Krishna Darshan, Dead mobile repair, to Rajangana for Dance Drama and returned home.
Day 4: Tuesday, 24th Oct. 2023
After breaksfast, pooja at home, went around some local relations for giving invitation for the wedding.
Then to GaradiMane for Chandika Homa and Mangalarathi, and grand Oota.
Sponsors : Kuppanna Varambally sons - Shatharama, Krishnamurthy and Murali.
Evening to Anegudde, Kumbhashi for Darshana at Vinayaka Temple with Padmanabha Sahasra and wife Shalini.
Snacks at Paakashala, Kumbhashi and returned home.
Day 5: Wednesday, 25th Oct. 2023
MODALA TAAVU
After breakfast, packed, shopping in Brahmavara, then to search for
Chittaranjan Hegde House,
from there proceeded to "MODALA TAAVU" near Karje for visit of Large, 400 years
Old grand house of PATELRU DURING British era. 92 yr old Ratnavathi Hegde living with her daughter.
Bought a bottle of pure coconut oil processed by wood grinder.
Lunch at Vijalakshmi House at Kadiyali, siesta, then to Dr Raghavendra Udupa foe oil massage, proceeded to Udyavara.
After having bari akki dosa at Sujatha, dropped by Smitha (Mittu) at the highway, to catch Sri Durgamba Bus at 8.30 pm
Reached next morning at 6 am at Hebbal, engaged a auto and reached home thus ending 5 day happy, divine trip to ooru.
